July Wrap Up | 2020
This month has been absolutely DIRE for reading. I think this might actually be my worst month for a long time and I think it comes down to my motivation and mental health just not being in the right place for reading. I am hoping to bounce back in July and get some of my challenges sorted.
On with the wrap up:
- 6 books read
- 0 e-arcs
- 2458 pages
- 17 blog posts published (not including this one)
- 59/100 books read for Goodreads Challenge (1 books ahead)
- 26/50 prompts completed for the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge
- 12/26 letters completed for the A-Z Reading Challenge
- 28/52 prompts completed for the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge.

- The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn | I cannot wait to read the rest of the series, the characters are always swoon-worthy and I adore learning more about the world and the relationships they build.
- The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch| I have to say that this one was a bit of a disappointment. I really wanted to love this one but unfortunately, it wasn’t my favourite. I’m not in a huge rush to pick up the next book in the series.
- The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde | This will definitely be one of my new favourite series, I loved the concept and I cannot wait to see how the characters develop throughout the series!
- Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo | I was taken a little surprised by this one, purely because I didn’t know what I was expecting. I think there was a lot in this book and I think it could have been cut down by quite a lot!

- A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman | This has become one of my all time favourite reads. I loved the characters and the development of the story. I will definitely be checking his other books out and seeing whether I love those just as much.
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho | I really didn’t love this one. I struggled to connect with the characters and I actually don’t know what the point of the story was or is. I won’t be recommending this one any time soon.

I had such a bad month when it came down to reading, so I’m quite surprised that there weren’t more books on this list if I’m being completely honest. I am determined to catch up in August and get on with completing some of my challenges.

What did you manage to read this month? Anything good? Let me know in the comments!

I’m so old I read Interview with the Vampire when it came out. (I was in high school.)
I read it when I was in university but I thought I would revisit it now that I don’t have to read it! xo
Snap I only read/listened to 6 books as well! I used to like hitting 10 books a month but have decided not to stop putting so much pressure on myself. In the scheme of things any amount is good! xx
Yess! I felt so yuck about this month but I need to be kinder on myself! <3 xo
You say you had a bad month for reading but you still read one more book than me. And I was proud of my five books!
Six books read is six more books than a lot of people read in a month! Be kind to yourself. Also agree with you on the Alchemist, not that I’ve read the whole thing. I don’t do well with that kind of thing! Happy reading in August!
