July Wrap Up | 2020

This month has been absolutely DIRE for reading. I think this might actually be my worst month for a long time and I think it comes down to my motivation and mental health just not being in the right place for reading. I am hoping to bounce back in July and get some of my challenges sorted.

On with the wrap up:

  • 6 books read
  • e-arcs
  • 2458 pages
  • 17 blog posts published (not including this one)
  • 59/100 books read for Goodreads Challenge (1 books ahead)
  • 26/50 prompts completed for the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge
  • 12/26 letters completed for the A-Z Reading Challenge
  • 28/52 prompts completed for the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge.
  • The Viscount Who Loved Me by Julia Quinn | I cannot wait to read the rest of the series, the characters are always swoon-worthy and I adore learning more about the world and the relationships they build.
  • The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch| I have to say that this one was a bit of a disappointment. I really wanted to love this one but unfortunately, it wasn’t my favourite. I’m not in a huge rush to pick up the next book in the series.
  • The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde | This will definitely be one of my new favourite series, I loved the concept and I cannot wait to see how the characters develop throughout the series!
  • Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo | I was taken a little surprised by this one, purely because I didn’t know what I was expecting. I think there was a lot in this book and I think it could have been cut down by quite a lot!
  • A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman | This has become one of my all time favourite reads. I loved the characters and the development of the story. I will definitely be checking his other books out and seeing whether I love those just as much.
  • The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho | I really didn’t love this one. I struggled to connect with the characters and I actually don’t know what the point of the story was or is. I won’t be recommending this one any time soon.

I had such a bad month when it came down to reading, so I’m quite surprised that there weren’t more books on this list if I’m being completely honest. I am determined to catch up in August and get on with completing some of my challenges.

    1. I read it when I was in university but I thought I would revisit it now that I don’t have to read it! xo

  1. Six books read is six more books than a lot of people read in a month! Be kind to yourself. Also agree with you on the Alchemist, not that I’ve read the whole thing. I don’t do well with that kind of thing! Happy reading in August!
