April Wrap Up & May TBR | 2024
April was my comeback month, and I had such a great reading month this time around. There were some really great reads and I didn’t struggle as much as I did in March, probably because I DNF’d a book and didn’t have to push through.
Stats for my March Wrap Up
- Books finished – 13
- DNF – 1
- New reads – 11
- Rereads – 2
- Pages read – 5041

Before the coffee gets cold
I fell in love with this book and immediately ran out to buy the rest of the series. There is something really whimsical about the writing and storyline. I loved it all. Will definitely be on the favourites list for this year.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sister, Maiden, Monster
I have no idea what to say about this book other than it made no sense whatsoever and by the end I was just happy for it to be over. Please don’t waste your time.
⭐

The Picture of Dorian Gray
I went into this one wanting something other than what I got, I found it hard to read and genuinely boring. The risk of a slump was something on the near future, so in the bin pile it went.
The Secret History
I was so bored by this story and genuinely, I got over 200 pages in and nothing had happened. I just gave up, I wasn’t even bothered to find out how it ended.

Lessons in Chemistry
I’m genuinely excited to really get into this one, I have heard wonderfully brilliant things. Plus I really want to watch the TV series.
The Tropic of Serpents
Jumping straight into the sequel. I really love the tone of these books and I think they’re going to be easy reading/listening.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter is a comfort read for me and I usually put the audiobook on in the middle of the night when I’m struggling to sleep and need to calm my brain down. It will probably take me a while to get through but it’s like a warm cup of tea.
May TBR
I am just plodding on and there’s no need to fix what isn’t broken. So it’s the same process again. I cannot wait to jump into some of the books on this list.
