June Wrap Up & July TBR | 2022

Posted July 1, 2022 by Jordann @thebookbloglife in tbr, wrap up / 2 Comments

June has been a fantastic month for me, I have read more books than I usually do and I found two new favourites! I am so hoping that July carries on with the same energy but for now I’m just thrilled about June. I’m not putting any pressure on it, just going to hope for the best and keep the list moving!

Stats for my June Wrap Up 2022

  • Books finished – 4
  • DNF – 0
  • New reads – 4
  • Rereads – 0
  • Pages read – 1732

  • PopSugar challenge – 3 prompts completed
  • 52 Books in 52 Weeks – 3 prompts completed

The Radium Girls

This was such a great read, and I’m not usually a fan of non-fiction but this one blew me away. I feel like I learnt so much and I became so emotionally invested with the characters and their fight. I would definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a new book and want to learn about something new.

Fix Her Up

I think I went into this one expecting a little more than what I got. There was some really great scenes but actually overall the story just fell a little flat for me. It was an okay experience but I don’t know how fast I will be reaching for the other books in the series.

  • The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Radium Girls by Kate Moore – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey – ⭐⭐⭐
  • The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Once and Future Witches

This was a new addition because I started reading The Vine Witch and realised that it just wasn’t for me. I needed another witchy read and this one popped up on my Kindle and I’m enjoying it so far.

July TBR

I finally made a little bit of progress on the unmovable TBR and have replaced some of the book covers below which has been thrilling. I’m still struggling a little with time to read and also finding books that hold my attention. Fingers crossed that this month goes from strength to strength and I find my groove again!

  1. I had the same reaction to Radium Girls! It’s one I highly recommend, too. Not a great read as far as what happened to those women, but gosh, it was so eye-opening and written so well. Looks like you’ve got a great selection for books coming up. Hope you enjoy them!
