August Wrap Up & September TBR | 2022

It was another fantastic month for me, I once again topped 2000 pages and I adored the majority of the books I read. There was a real mixed bag, with so many different genres and types of books, it was also a great month for my challenge reads. I don’t think I’m going to be able to get through them all but I finally feel as though I’m making headway!

Stats for my August Wrap Up 2022

  • Books finished – 5
  • DNF – 0
  • New reads – 5
  • Rereads – 0
  • Pages read – 2092

CHALLENGE UPDATE

  • PopSugar challenge – 4 prompts completed
  • 52 Books in 52 Weeks – 2 prompts completed

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder

The audiobook for this story was one of the best experiences I have had in a really long time. A full cast and different mediums it felt like an entirely new show. I would definitely recommend listening to this one if you get the chance, it would make all the difference.

⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2

Evvie Drake Starts Over

I don’t know I understand what this book was trying to do, although it was enjoyable as a whole it was so disjointed. Time seemed to jump all over the place and events were segmented rather than weaved through the story, it was an odd read and one I was happy to get to the end off.

⭐⭐⭐

  • The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N. K Jemisin – ⭐⭐⭐
  • Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley – ⭐⭐⭐
  • Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes – ⭐⭐⭐

Blankets

I have no idea what this book is about and I think my expectations are way off base! I am about a quarter of the way through and although the art style is brilliant, I’m not sure the story has grabbed me in the way I wanted it to! I’m going to keep going and hope for the best.
