March Wrap Up | 2021

This is so late I know, and I have been notably absent but I have been working on some really cool things in the background which I can’t wait to announce but they need a little more time before I can make it official. But March wasn’t a great month of reading for me, I couldn’t get into the groove and I found it hard to connect with books and the characters I was reading about.

Stats for my March Wrap Up

CHALLENGE UPDATE

I think I’m going to give the challenges a rest at the moment. I’m finding it really hard to read my challenge books and I put off reading all together. I might try again later on the year but for now, I’m trying to get my physical TBR down so that’s my aim for now.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue has been on my radar for so long. I love V.E Schwab and she is an auto-buy author for me so I definitely wasn’t surprised when this was a winner. The story was well defined and the characters were rich.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Judith Kerr – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I have seen this one on various shelves for a long time and I finally got around to reading it. It took me by surprise because although it’s touted as a children’s book it doesn’t read like that. There’s something sophisticated about the writing style and the story that blew me away.
  • The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – This was another reread and I adored it all over again, the characters are always well written. It is a stunning world and I really can’t wait to get to the newest addition in the series.

I really wanted to love this one because I thought the concept was brilliant, but the payoff just wasn’t there. I really hated the characters and there was nothing pulling me to root for the characters and their relationship.

⭐⭐

  • The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles – ⭐⭐⭐
  • When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Judith Kerr – ⭐⭐⭐

  1. Great wrap up! I absolutely loved Addie Larue as well. It was such a special book, I’ve never read anything quite like it before and I am keen to read Schwab’s other books now!
