July Wrap Up | 2019

I am so amazed with how well I have done this month with both my reading and my blogging. I took part in my first readathon and managed to regularly post all the way through the month. It has been a good month and I feel like I’ve finally hit my stride with both my reading and my blogging, so fingers crossed it carries on.

A quick roundup of the month:

  • 13 books read
  • 7 e-arcs
  • 4,403 pages
  • 17 blog posts published (not including this one)
  • 56/80 books read for Goodreads Challenge (10 books ahead)
  • The Morning After the Wedding Before – The first of SO many e-arcs and I have to say I was a little disappointed with this one, the characters were a little bland and the story was over simplified.
  • Only Ever You – This was such a cutesy book, I will say that this is another one where the story was a little predictable but I enjoyed reading it, a great e-arc for the list.
  • The Little Bookshop at Herring Cove – Another e-arc with a little more of a predictable romance storyline but I really enjoyed this one! I think it was because it was based in a bookshop – always a winner.
  • How to Make Time for Me – This made me laugh out loud. I actually howled at some parts. I really enjoyed the characters and how relatable they all were.
  • The Kingdom – As a huge fan of Disney this was right up my street, I really loved the morally grey areas that were woven all the way through this book. It was a great read.
  • What She Found in the Woods – This was a weird one where you’re not quite sure what to believe and the ending was really climatic, it was a good read, kept me on my toes.
  • All the Things We Never Said – I’m still not sure what my feelings are on this one. I think it handles the issue of mental health well but the ending was just too easy in my opinion.
  • The Beekeeper’s Promise – I loved the split timeline in this, I will say I was way more interested in the WWII timeline than the modern day. It was definitely a beautifully told story.
  • False Step – I was so excited about this book and it didn’t disappoint. I loved the ending, really got my heart pumping! I really do recommend this one if you’re looking for a crime book.
  • Too Late – My first ever Colleen Hoover book, and I have to say I was impressed. I really liked the way the story ended up going and I think the characters were well developed.
  • The Cruel Prince – I loved the story of this one and all the mythology. I will say the ending and the characters were a little predictable and fell a little short for me, but I did really enjoy it.
  • Good Omens – I have been wanting to read this one for a little while because I really want to jump into the new TV series so I’m really glad that I managed to get through this one and can start on the show!
  • Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – I don’t think I have a lot to say about this one, it may be the start of a reread – maybe!
