January Wrap Up | 2022

This is my first wrap up since March 2021, can you believe it? I’m actually quite proud of my January 2022 Wrap Up. I knew it was going to be a bit of a learning curve trying to do it all with Emmy but I have managed to read a few books and enjoy myself whilst doing it which is all that matters.

Stats for my January Wrap Up 2022

  • Books finished – 5
  • DNF – 0
  • New reads – 5
  • Rereads – 0
  • Pages read – 1827

CHALLENGE UPDATE

  • PopSugar challenge – 5 prompts completed
  • 52 Books in 52 Weeks – 3 prompts completed

Under the Whispering Door

I am a massive fan of The House on the Cerulean Sea and although this one didn’t quite live up to that one, I enjoyed it FAR more than the other books I read this month.

⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2

The Midnight Library

I really wanted to love this one, and I actually thought that I did until I sat down to write the book review. It just missed the mark, there were some really great moments but the ending became preachy and predictable and it just felt false.

⭐⭐⭐

Are we shocked to learn that only a month in I am taking a break from the challenges in favour of reading something completely different? I really want to read the books before I start watching the Netflix series.

I’m actually really impressed with how January went. I wasn’t expecting to read as much as I did and I think I’ve actually made a decent start on my challenges. Has it set me up for success for the rest of the year? Who knows, but I feel good.

  • The Radium Girls by Kate Moore
  • The Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley
  • The Duke and I by Julia Quinn
  • Command Me by Geneva Lee

Let me know what you read this month and what your favourites were. I’m always looking for any excuse to buy new books.

  1. Well done! I loved the Maya Angelou I read across Jan/Feb – “Mom & Me & Mom”, last of her autobiographical books but focusing on her mum. I’ll be reviewing it later in the week. I’ve got Clap When You Land TBR and really want to read it soon.

  2. Congrats on your successful reading month Jordann! I’m planning to catch up on Elizabeth Acevedo’s books and hopefully will get to Clap When You Land very soon. My first read of the year which I really enjoyed was a poetry collection by Mary Oliver, lots of nature-themed poems which were nice to read.

Here’s my mini review if your interested in checking it out & wishing you a happy February:
