February Wrap Up | 2021

The second month of the year and I have finally hit my stride. I’ve read quite a few books this month. I am hoping that the rest of the year ends up being just as productive and I fall in love with reading once again. So on with my February wrap up

Stats for my February wrap up

  • Books finished – 13
  • DNF – 1
  • New reads – 12
  • Rereads – 1
  • Pages read – 4596

Challenge update

  • PopSugar challenge – 5 prompts completed
  • 52 Books in 52 Weeks – 8 prompts completed
  • Pretty Mess Reading – 2 prompts completed

I continued my journey into the romance genre and fell in love with this entire series and characters. I would definitely recommend this one if you’re looking for a cute but sexy read.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  • Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – I went into this one just a little bit blind. I also wasn’t sure if it was going to end up being one of my least favourites or my favourite. I loved the characters and the quest and all the culture packed into this book.
  • The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – This book was such a surprise. I didn’t think it was going to be highly rated but then it packs this incredible punch and actually made me cry. The emotion in this book runs high and I adore it for that.
  • Wilder Girls by Rory Power – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – I cannot get over how beautiful the relationships are within this book. Considering the context and story behind it I wasn’t expecting the characters to shine through. And they most definitely do. Beautifully written with just the right amount of gore!

There were no real redeeming factors with this one. I think my expectations were too high and of something completely different so I was just left underwhelmed and disappointed.

⭐⭐

I have decided to pick this one up because I was really in the mood for Schwab’s writing. It definitely hasn’t let me down so far and I’m excited to see where the story ends up taking me!

I had a lot of Kindle books on my TBR for February but decided I was going to take part in the Kindle Clearout Readathon. So, I ended up pushing back my Kindle books so I could use them in that challenge. So the books I will definitely be getting to are:

  • Beartown by Fredrik Backman
  • The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams
  • The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

  1. Pretty sure I also gave The Guest List two starts . It was a real disappointment. So many of these look good! And I’m glad you enjoyed your ACOTAR reread 😊😊

  2. Wow, great total. I finished 12 in Feb but wrote 13 on my blog as I really thought I was going to finish the last bit of one! I really want to read The Poet X and I’m glad you rated it. As for those chaps on your romance books – what are those, 8-packs? Terrifying!
