May Wrap Up | 2020
Although I didn’t read all the books I had planned I had such a great and fun reading month. I read some really great books this month and most of them blew me away in some regard. Definitely, my favourite month of reading so far will be heading back to my challenges next month which I’m kinda excited for if I’m being honest.
On with the wrap up:
- 9 books read
- 3 e-arcs
- 3850 pages
- 16 blog posts published (not including this one)
- 46/107 books read for Goodreads Challenge (6 books ahead)
- 23/50 prompts completed for the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge
- 11/26 letters completed for the A-Z Reading Challenge
- 19/52 prompts completed for the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge.

- Uncommon Type by Tom Hanks|I picked this one up because I am a big fan of Tom Hanks, but this one fell a little short in my opinion, I wasn’t a massive fan of the writing style and some of the stories were a little dull.
- The Court of Miracles by Kester Grant|I so wanted this to be a new favourite but unfortunately I had a few issues with the way the story panned out. I am looking forward to the next one to see whether those issues end up working themselves out or not.
- Normal People by Sally Rooney| I don’t think anyone can actually keep their thoughts straight when it comes to this book. I still don’t know whether I liked it or not, the writing was definitely a miss for me and I’m not sure I liked the characters.
- Middlegame by Seanan McGuire| One of my new favourites, I cannot believe how much I loved this book and the way the story entwines all the way through and how everything ends up making total sense sort of.

- The Gameshouse by Claire North | Claire North has blown me away again. These three short novellas were brilliantly written and well-formed and I really loved the ideas that run throughout these stories. I really recommend this one.
- The Gravity of Us by Phil Stamper| This one I was so excited to be accepted for but unfortunately it just wasn’t for me. I thought there was so much potential that wasn’t looked at. But I still enjoyed it as the light and fluffy read it was.
- Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust| I think I have found a new favourite. I loved the characters, the culture and everything about this book. I cannot get over how brilliant this story was and how it kept me enthralled all the way through.
- Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas| I finally got round to rereading this one and I cannot wait to get onto the next one in the series, and finally get to Kingdom of Ash by the end of this year!

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima | I loved this book more than I ever thought I would. It was such a brilliant fantasy read and I loved learning more about the different people and the way they survived the world.

I have quite a few missed books this month but purely because my TBR was so big this month. I am currently reading Aurora Rising and I have just a little bit of Mythos to listen to so fingers crossed I’ll be starting June off strong!
