July Wrap Up & August TBR | 2022

The streak continues and I have managed to top 2000 pages this month. July was a great month and although I didn’t find any new favourites I was surprised at how well I did, especially seeing as we were away for a couple of days! I’m really loving my reading right now and I’m enjoying most of the books and I am working my way through the backlist on my TBR.

Stats for my June Wrap Up 2022

  • Books finished – 5
  • DNF – 0
  • New reads – 4
  • Rereads – 1
  • Pages read – 2050

CHALLENGE UPDATE

  • PopSugar challenge – 5 prompts completed
  • 52 Books in 52 Weeks – 2 prompts completed

The Once and Future Witches

This was a new book, and one that I had no idea about going into. There was such a great combination of both historical knowledge and magic. Plus I adored the magic system in this one, it was so realistic and well written. One of the best ones I have read in a little while.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Lock Every Door

I have a really weird sense of deja vu when I was reading this book and I don’t think it did it any favours if I’m honest. There was a lot about this book I enjoyed and a lot that seemed to fall flat.

⭐⭐⭐

  • Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas – ⭐⭐⭐
  • Heartstopper: Vol 1 by Alice Oseman – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Lock Every Door by Riley Sager – ⭐⭐⭐
  • All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms

Talk about a book that has been on my radar for literal years because I can’t remember when I actually wanted to pick it up first. I will say it’s a little slow going and I think I’m going to have to start again to really understand what is going on but it looks promising.

August TBR

This is the first month where I have really made a dent in my challenge reads and got to swap out quite a few of the cover photos.
