What is the most enjoyable book you’ve read in 2020 so far?

This one was such a hard question! I had so much difficulty trying to pick just one book so decided to go for the most recent one!
What is the earliest book you remember reading and loving?

The Famous Five was amongst the first Enid Blyton books I read and it was the first series I ever collected and read.
Do you read more backlist books or new releases?
Probaby backlist. I’m not organised enough to read new releases when they come out so they always end up being backlist anyway!
What are you 3 favourite reads by diverse authors?

- Becoming | I loved this book, it was probably one of my favourite biographies and I loved how honest it was when discussing Obama’s marriage and relationships with the kids.
- 10 Minutes, 38 Seconds in this Strange World | This was also such a great read, I loved the culture and everything that happened within this book and how much I learnt.
- Girl, Woman, Other | I don’t know what I was expecting with this one, but this was such a great book. I loved all the individual stories and how they all linked in together.
Are there any books you’ve read, but have since changed your opinion about?

I read this one ages ago and reread it recently. I think I swooned over it back then, but when I reread it although I still loved the series it just didn’t hit me as hard.
Can you create a small playlist for one of your favourite books?

- Freedom by Kygo and Zak Abel (freeing from Endovier)
- The Climb by Miley Cyrus (always good for a training montage)
- IDGAF by Dua Lipa (for all the banter)
- Friends by Ella Henderson (for all the loveliness between her and Nehemia)
- Fight Song by Rachel Platten (for the climatic fight)
- Brave by Sara Bareilles (For the ending and the victory)
If you could read one book again with fresh eyes, what book would that be?

Harry Potter of course. I don’t think there has been ever tag where Harry Potter wasn’t added. But I would love to be able to experience this entire series with fresh eyes.
What’s your ideal reading routine?
I love to run a nice hot bath, like think boil your potatoes hot with a cute bathbomb and reading whilst soaking.
Otherwise I love sitting under a duvet in complete silence and reading whilst the world passes me bad.
What is your favourite book/comic adaptation?

I couldn’t think of one because adaptations always fall short but I have chosen an upcoming book adaptation which is Disney + Percy Jackson series!
Do you have a favourite trope?
I think for me, my favourite trope would be the bad guy, and I know they can definitely be problematic at best sometimes but when they are done right they are absolutely beautiful.
Either that or I love age gap romances like Warden and Paige in The Bone Season, don’t come for me.
What is a book (series or standalone) that you think is underrated?

For me, this book changed my life. I still think about how amazing it was and how great the whole story was. I’m actually considering buying a beautiful edition for my shelves. I have seen people rate it well but there isn’t that much hype I don’t think.

The Famous Five series is special to me too because my brother, sister and I would all read them together.
It is definitely a series that has stuck with me all this time. I thoroughly enjoy them!
I have fond memories of the books. I just wish we had treated them better because anyone can tell they were loved and used.
