Spring Has Spring book tag

I saw this tag and as my reading has slowed once again this month I thought it would be the perfect time for me to do another one. I really do love these. I give credit to Bookmark Your Thoughts where I got the tag from!

FLOWERS

All the flowers we remember are blooming again. Pick a book that’s a fresh take on a retelling.

Every Heart a Doorway

I’m not sure whether this would count as a retelling but it is a different take on classic fairytale worlds and how they fit into the real world. I love seeing the different worlds and the people who would usually fit into them.

CADBURY MINI EGGS: Obviously the superior springtime candy of choice.

Pick a book that you consider to be a sweet treat.

Anne of Green Gables

I was super late getting to this one, but I adore Anne and her way of viewing the world. It has some really beautiful writing with some really sweet friendships. I adore it.

ALLERGIES

Seasonal allergies often make your eyes water. Pick a book that made you cry.

The Testaments

Aunt Lydia’s story throughout this made me sob like a little girl. I couldn’t believe what I was reading and it made me really question what I would do in the same situation. I recommend this book. It’s one of my all-time favourites.

SPRING CLEANING

Out with the old and in with the new. Pick a book to unhaul.

The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweden

I read The 100-Year-Old-Man… ages ago and it just wasn’t my favourite. I kept this for a long time hoping I was going to read it but I never made the time to pick it up. I don’t think I ever will.

SPRING BREAK

It’s the perfect time for an adventure. Pick a book involving a road trip.

Paper Towns

I read Paper Towns a really long time ago and it was the second book by John Green I didn’t enjoy. I do remember there is a moment where they travel in order to find a girl.

MATING SEASON

It’s that time of year in the animal kingdom to make some babies. Pick a book with some smutty delights.

House of Earth and Blood

I could have chosen any of Sarah J Maas’ books. I loved the relationships in this book and there were so many great moments in this one. I really love her way of writing.

RAINBOWS:

I just feel like Spring is made of freaking rainbows. Pick a book featuring an LGBTQ+ character(s).

The Starless Sea

I still can’t believe how brilliantly wonderful this book made me feel. I loved the characters and the world, it features a gay main character and I loved it. Just one of the greats.

SPRING AWAKENING:

This is one of my all-time favourite musicals even though it’s filled with completely dysfunctional characters. Pick a book that’s also filled with completely dysfunctional characters.

Ace of Shades

This book was like watching a highly dysfunctional family try to deal with a lot of things out of their control. I love this series and I cannot wait to read the next one!

IN LIKE A LION, OUT LIKE A LAMB:

Pick a book series that didn’t get better as it progressed.

Die for Me

I mean this one wasn’t fantastic but this series became weirder and weirder as time went on. Can’t say I’m a massive fan tbh.

  1. Anne of Green Gables is a perfect read for this time of year! For some reason I associate it with autumn, but when springtime comes around I can’t help but think of The White Way of Delight! 🤍🤍
