Tier Ranking Series I Have Read
So this is something I have seen working it’s way around Booktube and I thought how cool it would be to do it on my blog. I have gone through my book covers that I have saved on my laptop and I definitely know I have missed some of them but I definitely think I have hit the main ones.
I have chosen just to do series that I have read more than one book in the series for.

God Tier

- A Court of Thorns and Roses & Throne of Glass | Anything by Sarah J Maas is an automatic God Tier. I adore her books and her characters.
- A Darker Shade of Magic | V.E Schwab is also an automatic God tier, her writing in this series especially blows me away. I adored the characters and the magic system.
- An Ember in the Ashes | This is one of my all-time favourite series, I love the characters and the world. I cannot wait until I see where the series end up going.
- Harry Potter | I had a little bit of debate on whether this one was going to be God Tier or not purely because I struggle with J K Rowling and the constant need to push Harry Potter down everyone’s throat. But I separated the books from that, purely because these books are such a big part of my life and childhood.
- Six of Crows | This duology has such great characters and has such a great storyline. I end up loving where it all goes and I think the character development was so brilliantly done.
- The Bone Season | To be honest, was there any doubt that this one was going to be a God Tier. This series is an all time favourite and I cannot rave enough about how much I love Samantha Shannon!
- Strange the Dreamer | The world in Strange the Dreamer is one of the best I have ever read. I loved the mythology and how everything ended up playing out!
- Percy Jackson| This series was such a huge part of my childhood reading and I loved all of the characters and the mythology. I am in desperate need of a reread.
Demi-God Tier

- Song of Ice and Fire | I loved this series, the only reason why it isn’t God tier is because it’s not finished and there is NO sign of it ever being finished. I’m so done with being patient.
- The Illuminae Files | I ADORE these books. I think it’s so unique the way it’s told and the way the drama takes place, they are just some really great reads.
- Outlander | I loved the first couple of books in this series. I think the romance is so epic and I love the way it spans over two different time frames. I will definitely be carrying on this series at some point.
- The Handmaid’s Tale | I wasn’t sure whether this was God Tier but I didn’t enjoy the first one as much as The Testaments. I loved learning more about the characters and where they had come from.
- This Savage Song | I know I said V.E Schwab’s writing makes her automatic God Tier but this series didn’t stick with me as much as the others have. I definitely think this one needs a reread and this might change.
Great Tier

- Every Heart a Doorway | This series is so magical as a whole. I love the way everything is told. However, there are a few books in this series that fall a little short, hence the Great Tier.
- Red Rising | I really loved the books that I got to in this series, but I have never managed to read the others. It’s something I want to remedy but haven’t really felt an urge to do.
- The Blood Prince | I was so lucky to receive the entirety of this series from the author and this was such a great read. I thought the way that vampires were used was brilliantly done.
- Cormoran Strike | I really love the dynamic that runs through this series with the characters and the way they all end up working together it was so well written and I never see the murderer coming.
- The Potion Diaries | I actually adore this series and I haven’t seen anyone talking about it but the use of social media and the competition was so well done. I love it!
- Ace of Shades | I kept this series at Great Tier because it isn’t finished yet and I’m not sure where the next book is going to go. But I really do love the characters and the world.
- Rebel of the Sands | I really need to get the last book in this series because this was one of my favourites. I love the characters and the mythology would definitely recommend.
- The School For Good and Evil | I love this series, it’s soo cute and there are some really great characters and thoughts all the way through!
Good Tier

- Agatha Raisin & Hamish Macbeth | These are definitely a guilty pleasure read. I always find myself picking them up when I need a little bit of a time out from the other things I’m reading.
- Cinder | This definitely is a series that I have been planning to reread for a very long time. It’s one that has stuck with me and I still have the novellas to read which I’m excited for.
- Poirot Mysteries | I really need to get back to listening to the Poirot mysteries, I loved them so much and the audiobooks made me so happy. Maybe 2021 will be the year…
- Kingfountain | I stumbled across this series and it is definitely a classic fantasy with some really great magic and characters. I definitely can’t wait to jump back in and read them all.
- Jack Reacher | Such a recent find and I am really loving them at the moment, I do think they’re a little formulaic but for now they’re quick and thrilling reads!
Okay Tier

- Anna and the French Kiss | I used to swoon about this book, it was such a great read but when I ended up rereading I noticed more issues with it and I don’t think I will be reading it again.
- Dorothy Must Die | I was super hyped about this series, and I have almost all the books sat on my shelf but I kinda lost interest. But maybe I will pick them up someday.
- Miss Peregrine’s | I really struggle with ranking this one. I really loved the first couple of books but I felt let down by the rest of the series and I wish it had remained on the high it started on.
Bad Tier

- Lord of the Rings | I think my this one might need its own post but I hate this series. Frodo is the single most irritating character, I would say I would try again but chances are I won’t.
Trash Tier

- Die For Me | This entire series is awful. It just gets worse and worse as the books go on. I think I read these and genuinely didn’t know what was going on.
- Half Bad | I don’t even want to talk about the awfulness that was the ending of this series. I hated the character’s arc and I thought there was so much missing potential.
- The Grisha Trilogy | This is the first series where I genuinely hoped that the two main characters died and the villain won! I really had high expectations for this one but it left me disappointed.

I hope you liked this post. I might try and do this with other books I have read. I definitely missed some books! Let me know if this is something you would want to see?

This is a really cool idea for a post! I haven’t read many of these series, but I agree for the most part of the ones I have read. I do disagree with your Lord of the Rings ranking though haha
I think there is going to be a lot of people who disagree about LOTR! 😂 I might do a whole post about it all one day!
Thank you! 🥰
Ah! Honestly I did struggle with Lord of the Rings (it was 16 years ago I read it) but I LOVE the films! I agree with A Song of Ice and Fire. Why does he keep releasing other books from the world??
I think my biggest problem was I didn’t connect with Frodo so that made it really difficult to feel sympathy for him.
I know!! I think he’s got the writer version of stage fright! I wanna see if the reaction to the tv show changed anything! 😂
I just want to thank you for putting LOTR in bad tier because same. I know we’re in the minority but, honestly, I’ve never been so bored reading a book.
Great post!
I definitely think we’re the minority. I just didn’t give a flying crap about Frodo, which is difficult when the whole book series is about him…
Sad to know you didn’t like LOTR. It was the first series I read and loved it. But I’m happy Percy Jackson is on the top tier. great post!
I love these posts and youtube videos! It’s the best way to see what series you liked, etc. and just give a general overview of everything.
