May TBR | 2020

May is my birthday month so I am planning to read all the books I want to this month. I’m going lose track of my reading challenges this month and just letting loose. I love the idea of having a month off and getting to the books I really want to read, without any restrictions. I love the books I’ve chosen for my challenges and there will definitely be books in this list that will fit into them but that’s not my main focus!

If you want to know more about my challenges here are some posts:

  • Bound in Flame
  • The Court of Miracles

I didn’t manage to read any e-ARCS last month so I think that’s going to be my focus this month and get the reviews done for them sharpish. Fingers crossed everything goes to plan this month.

  • Middlegame by Seanan McGuire – I have been so desperate to read this book but it has been constantly over £10 on the Kindle store and I just haven’t had the funds to spend that much. Well it went on sale and I am SO excited to finally jump into this one.
  • Wolf by Wolf by Ryan Graudin – There were so many reviews about this one recently and it really sounds like something I would enjoy. Plus it was on sale on the Kindle store so I pushed the button and managed to buy it!
  • Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan- I know the sequel for this one is out or is just about to come out so there has been a whole load of book reviews that means I cannot put this book off anymore! | PopSugar Reading ChallengeA book by a WOC |
  • Regretting You by Colleen Hoover – I have heard AMAZING things about this book and I enjoyed the other books I have read by Colleen Hoover so I thought this would be a natural progression | PopSugar Reading ChallengeA book with a pink cover & 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge – Book with romance & “R” in A-Z Challenge
  • Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas – I am currently rereading this series because I really want to read Kingdom of Ash this year and I want to relive how great this entire series is before it ends. I have no excuse other than it’s my birthday and I’ll reread if I want to.
  • The Black Prism by Brent Weeks – I am so glad to have this one on my TBR at the moment. I bought it from Waterstones before they shut and I really cannot wait to jump into it and see whether it is worth all the hype.
  • Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – I was a huge fan of The Illuminae Files, they are some of my favourite books. I am so looking forward to jumping into this new series and see if it meets my oh so high expectations. |52 Books in 52 Weeks ChallengeWritten by more than one author|
  • Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff – I didn’t even wait to read the first one before I pre-ordered this one. I am SO excited to jump into this and see what I think about the whole series in one go. | 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge – Published in 2020 |
  • The Game House by Claire North – I have read Claire North’s other books and really thoroughly enjoyed them so I was a bit shocked to realise that she has written another book that I didn’t even know existed. I managed to pick it up super cheap on Amazon (I have a problem) and I can’t wait to jump into it!
  • Yes No Maybe So by Becky Albertalli and Aisha Saeed – This one has been taking book blogs by storm over the last couple of months and I cannot wait to see if I love it just as much. So I will be jumping into this one this month and hoping for the best!
  • The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima – I tried reading The Warrior’s Heir not too long ago and it really missed the mark for me. I’m hoping that this one will become a favourite and I can fall in love with this author like everyone else seems too.
  • Normal People by Sally Rooney – Not only have I heard amazing things about this book but there is now also an adaptation to watch and we all know I can’t watch the adaptation without reading it first.
  • Mythos  – This is supposed to be not only really informative but also really funny. So I thought I would give the audiobook a go and see what I thought. I am hoping for great things in all honesty.
  • Daisy Jones and the Six – This one has mixed reviews but everyone says the audiobook is fantastic and makes all the difference so I will be checking that out this month and seeing what I think!

  1. My b-day is also in May!!!! Wooohooo, so excited!!! 😀

A lot of May TBRs that I’ve seen go with an “easier” vibe and just relay on mood reading, which is the best reading I must say 😀 I hope May will be incredible for you!
