June Wrap Up | 2020

This month has been absolutely DIRE for reading. I think this might actually be my worst month for a long time and I think it comes down to my motivation and mental health just not being in the right place for reading. I am hoping to bounce back in July and get some of my challenges sorted.

On with the wrap up:

  • 7 books read
  • e-arcs
  • 2954 pages
  • 18 blog posts published (not including this one)
  • 53/100 books read for Goodreads Challenge (4 books ahead)
  • 24/50 prompts completed for the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge
  • 11/26 letters completed for the A-Z Reading Challenge
  • 24/52 prompts completed for the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge.
  • Aurora Rising & Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff | I have to say these weren’t at all what I expected and I’m not sure I’m as big of a fan as I was of The Illuminae Files, but I am holding out for the last one to redeem it all!
  • Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan| This was a much needed reread and I adored it. I forgot how much I love the Greek myths and the characters in this book. Cannot wait to reread the rest of the series.
  • Mythos by Stephen Fry | I have really fallen into the world of Greek myths this month and I really loved how informative yet fun this one was. I felt as though I learnt a lot without being overwhelmed.
  • The Martian by Andy Weir | Another reread/listen but I enjoy this one just as much as I did the first time around. I loved the science and the humour all the way through this book. I adored seeing Mark being raw and struggling but also laughing his way through.
  • The Duke and I by Julia Quinn | I have a problem that has been caused by reading this book. I am so excited to dive into this genre more and read more of the swoon-worthy dukes.
  • Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston | SO many feels did this book dish out. I think this will be on my favourite list purely because I loved it soo much and I can’t see anything bumping it off.

So many books missed again this month, I’m really going to have to work my butt off to get through all my challenges and finish the year off on a high. It’s not impossible but I need to focus!

I’m not sure this is a DNF at this point but I have stopped reading this one for now, I just can’t get into and I actually felt myself slumping through it. So I’m giving it a break and seeing what I think later on in the year.
