June Wrap Up | 2019

I have had an absolutely fantastic month of both reading and on my blog. I have kept up with my book reviews and have had content going out regularly and I couldn’t be prouder of myself. This month has consisted of a lot of arcs and only a few books for myself, but the majority I have loved more than I expected too.

I still cannot get over that I have read so many books this month, just a quick breakdown of the month:

  • 10 books read
  • 4 e-arcs
  • 4,402 pages
  • 15 blog posts published (not including this one)
  • 43/80 books read for Goodreads Challenge (4 books ahead)
  • Strange the Dreamer & Muse of Nightmares – I flew through these and it still remains one of my favourite book series, I did think the second one moved a little more slowly but I enjoyed where the story took us.
  • Girl Wash Your Face – I listened to this on Audible after hearing wonderful things about it, but it just wasn’t for me. I thought the entire book was a brag and she came across preachy without giving any actual advice.
  • The Witch Who Courted Death – This was the first of many e-arcs that I read this month, it was completely different to what I was expecting but in a good way!
  • Sea Change – Another e-arc and I have to say I was a little disappointed by the story in this one. I was never really sure what was going on and nothing seemed to be overly developed.
  • The Missing Wife – I LOVED this book, it really captured my attention and I loved the writing and the storyline. Probably the best e-arc I read this month.
  • The Orphanage of Gods – I think this e-arc was the one that I was the most excited for. I love anything to do with gods and spawn of gods and this did not disappoint!
  • City of Bones – This was a reread. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this as I hated Clary originally but she didn’t seem to bother me AS much as I thought she did. I don’t think I’ll be carrying on with the series though.

  • The Life Siphon – My last e-arc of the month! I really enjoyed the magic system and the world in this book. It was a great read, I loved it!
  • On The Come Up – I was so excited to read this one, I really enjoyed THUG and wanted to see what this was all about. I will say that it’s not as dark but there are just as important themes.
  • The Selection – This was another reread! I read this back in 2014 and I wasn’t massively keen but I thought that I’d give it another go. I wasn’t wild about it but I’ll definitely be carrying on with the series.
