January 2026 Wrap Up
January ended up being a great month for me reading wise, the start of the year usually is. In fact I’m really excited to share my January 2026 Wrap Up with you all. I had a really solid plan and I made some really great progress on the goals I’ve set for the year.

Out of the 11 books I read this month, I had 2 5 Stars, 2 4.5 Stars, 6 4 Stars and 1 3 star read. So not only did I read a lot I actually enjoyed a lot of what I was reading. I read 2 books exclusively on my Kindle, 2 audiobooks and the rest were all physical reads, which makes sense as I’m trying to read all my preorders and also lower my physical TBR.
Highlights – Standalones of the month

The Favourites & The Bookshop Below were both books that took me by surprise and are completely different books. I loved the drama of The Favourites, and the whimsy and darkness of The Bookshop Below.
Highlights – Series of the month

I reread A Language of Dragons and jumped straight into A War of Wyverns and I have to say this series is getting better and better. The cliffhanger ending has set the third book up for possibly another action packed addition. I definitely think this is one of the more underrated fantasies but it has quickly become a favourite.
Disappointment of the month

After reading Water Moon last year I was expecting a lot from The Elsewhere Express. Although I did eventually come to a 4 star rating I think it’s skimming. There was a lack of direction and it became really apparent as the book went on that I wasn’t the only one who didn’t really understand what was happening.
All the books I read in January 2026
- The Favourites by Layne Fargo
- The Rose and the Duke by Jillian Eaton
- Blood Orange by Karina Halle
- A Language of Dragons by S.F. Williamson
- A War of Wyverns by S.F. Williamson
- The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
- Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy
- Wild Reverence by Rebecca Ross
- Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
- The Bookshop Below by Georgia Summers
- The Elsewhere Express by Samantha Sotto Yambao
Definitely a month to build on for the year. Onto February with enough motivation to keep getting on through the TBR.
