January Wrap Up | 2021
The first month of the year done and dusted. I’m trying to be kinder to myself and accept that some months might not go exactly the way we want them too, and that’s okay. I usually start off really strong in January, usually reading the most amount of books and loving life really. This month although not at all bad for reading just wasn’t as good as I expected and that is definitely something I myself need to work on!
Stats for my January wrap up
- Books finished – 10
- DNF – 0
- New reads – 9
- Rereads – 1
- Pages read – 4543
Challenge update
- PopSugar challenge – 6 prompts completed
- 52 Books in 52 Weeks – 6 prompts completed
- Pretty Mess Reading – 6 prompts completed

I definitely wasn’t expecting this one to be my favourite read of the month but it blew me away. The writing style was beautiful and the subject matter was raw and unyielding and I adored it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

- Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – This month I have jumped right into the world of romance and have been testing the waters a little bit. This book was such a cute and wonderful read that I will definitely be checking out the rest of the series and other Tessa Dare’s works.
- City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – I didn’t know what I was expecting with this one. It has been on my TBR for a really long time and I kept putting it off. I’m so glad I finally picked it up though and I can’t wait to see where the story inevitably goes.
- Thorn by Intisar Khanani – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Having never read The Goose Girl I went into this story completely blind and I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into. I fell in love with the world and the way everything happens and I loved the characters.

This book was one of my most anticipated reads but something just didn’t click for me. I still can’t put a finger on it but it was an odd read and I was so disappointed. I still haven’t made my mind up as to whether I’m going to watch the series or not.

Thank you soo much. This made me smile so much <3
Congrats on completing 6 prompts each for your challenges! Eventually, I will need to go through my books as I want to complete the Popsugar one this year. Hope you continue to have a fantastic reading month in February! 😀
Thank you soo much! I had to go through before I started otherwise I just don’t get anywhere!
I might have everything together by December at the rate I’m going haha….I just can’t get my books in order. I can’t wait to see what part of the challenge(s) you do next! <3
Thank you so much, I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
Thank you!
ooh I read The Guest List in January and loved it!
I really need to get to it! Just didn’t make it this month!
A good variety of books and those Gabaldon ones are ENORMOUS aren’t they? I read 10 books in January and was happy with that, and I’m actually happy having a bit of a reviewing lag as I can write reviews at the weekend to publish in the week – I agree it’s a time to be kind to ourselves!
Omg yess! I really struggled to get through it, it felt like a neverending book! I much prefer having a bit of a lag because it takes the stress off!
