February TBR | 2020

I had an okay month of reading in January, I managed to read 9 books but I completely neglected my E-ARCS which I’m just a little bit ashamed off if I’m honest. So I think I’m really going to focus on those this month and get them read and off my list! I am still really focused on my challenges and I want to make sure that I continue to hit all of my prompts! If you want to check out some of my TBR then here’s my first post on that!

These are the dreaded ARCS that keep haunting my TBRs but this will be the month where I finished at LEAST 2 of them! Send me help!

• The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler – Basically I didn’t get to read this one and I need to, not only for my challenges but because I love Jane Austen | PopSugar Reading Challenge – A book about a book club |
• Eeny Meeny by M. J. Arlidge – I am actually currrently reading this one and it’s freaking me out a little, but we shall see if the payoff is there at the end. | PopSugar Reading Challenge – A book with an upside-down image on the cover & “E” in the A-Z Reading Challenge
• Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers – I really wanted to read this one last month but for some reason I just didn’t manage to get around to it. So I’m determined this time| The Backlist Reader Challenge 2020 |
• Akin – I wish I had just picked this one up last month, it sounds like something I would love to read but I just think it fell by the wayside which is a little unfortunate.| “A” in the A-Z Reading Challenge

• The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden – I have heard so many good reviews for this book and I thought why not, we have just had it join our stock at the library and it might be a good series to start | 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge – Set in Winter |
• The Outsider by Stephen King – My husband is desperate to watch the new TV show but I have put him off because I want to read the book first. So I decided I better get down to it before he divorces me! | PopSugar Reading Challenge – A book published the month of your birthday & 52 Books in 52 Weeks Challenge – A Stephen King novel |
• Scythe by Neal Shusterman – This is another one that seems to be really popular at the moment and I kinda can’t wait to see whether it deserves all the hype or whether it will fall short | PopSugar Reading Challenge – A book with a robot, cyborg or AI character |
• My Grandmother Sends Her Regards and Apologises by Fredrik Backman – I can’t count on one hand the amount of people who have told me how wonderful Backman’s writing is so I have added him in. | PopSugar Reading Challenge – A book with a great first line & “M” in the A-Z Reading Challenge |

• Harry Potter 6 & 7 – I didn’t get any time to listen to any of my audiobooks this month so I’m aiming to get both of these done in February!

All of the books above are part of a challenge and I realised that I have books that I want to read but that can’t really take priority at the moment, so I have added a section for books I want to read but only if I get some of the ones above read.

• Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas – This is a reread, purely because I want to get to Kingdom of Ash this year so want to be well prepared for the finale.
• Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb – I have heard some really great things about this series and I’m really excited to see whether I enjoy it as much as I think I should.
• The Potted Gardener by M.C. Beaton – I love this series, it offers me some really light relief in amidst some of the heavier books I read. I will definitely hoping to get to this one later on in the month!
• Birds of a Feather by Jacqueline Winspear – Maisie Dobbs, the first book in the series blew me away! I loved the characters and the story, so I really want to make some time to get to the second one in this series!
