March Wrap Up | 2020
I have had a really awful month of reading this month, I think my anxiety about COVID-19 has really gotten in way of my reading. I really wanted this month to be a continuation of the previous months but it just wasn’t to be. I’m hoping that April will be a turnaround month and I can pick up the steam again. Plus I don’t want to lose track of my challenges, if you want to know more about the challenges, I did a whole post about them here as well as two posts of TBRs for them, part one & part two & part three.
On with the wrap up:
- 7 books read
- 0 e-arcs
- 4131 pages
- 14 blog posts published (not including this one)
- 28/107 books read for Goodreads Challenge (4 books ahead)
- 18/50 prompts completed for the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge
- 9/26 letters completed for the A-Z Reading Challenge
- 14/52 prompts completed for the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge.

- Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb | I have heard amazing things about this series and I wanted to start reading it and see what I thought. I definitely think this one was a little slow but I am willing to give the other books a chance.
- House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas | My most anticipated book of the year and it didn’t disappoint! I do think the first 50 pages were a little odd and slow going but the rest of the book was fantastic!
- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling| I am listening to these on Audible and I’m really loving the experience, this is definitely my least favourite of the books!
- The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt | This was definitely a book of two halves, the first half was one of my favourite reads ever but the second half kind of lost me a little. I thought it lost its way a little and I couldn’t get behind the characters or the ending.

- A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton | I may have found another series to read because this one made me happy, I wasn’t sure on the writing style and I thought some of it was a little rushed but I will be picking up the next one in the series.
- The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski | This was one I wanted to read more so I could watch the TV show on Netflix. I’m not completely sold on it but I’m willing to give it another shot with the next in the series.
- Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling | I can’t believe I managed to listen to both of these this month but I’m excited to get to the end. I cried with the ending of this one, definitely one of my favourites.

I have a lot of missed books this month, I definitely didn’t hit as many books or read as much as I wanted this month, but I have listened to two audiobooks and I’m halfway through another. So there is that. I’m hoping that next month this is list is a lot shorter.

- No Fences in Alaska by Glen Sobey | I have to say I couldn’t get through the slut-shaming and odd reaction to rape in this book. I may go back to it a little later but for now, this one is not high on my list to read.
- Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly| I think my expectations of this book got in the way of me enjoying this one. I couldn’t keep a track of what was going on and it felt like there was so much information thrown and it wasn’t linear I just didn’t enjoy it.
- The Gap of Time by Jeanette Winterson | Not a lot I can say about this one other than I’m not doing my work book club anymore so I don’t need to read this one!

What did you manage to read this month? Anything good? Let me know in the comments!

Really hope your reading mojo picks up again soon! I think I’m reading more at the moment to block out the anxiety and stress!
Me too! I’m remaining optimistic and keeping my TBR high for next month. I’m hoping to get to the stage where my anxiety starts to subside and it becomes my new normal.
It still seems like you did great this month, Jordann, despite the anxieties around our current situation. I hope the month of April is much better for you!
