26 in 2026 | Reading Goals
It is not a surprise to anyone to learn I have a massive physical and digital TBR. I have spent the majority of my adult life collecting and discarding books. It is an overwhelming feeling looking at your shelves and not knowing where to start and working out how to get through the mammoth amount of books sat looking at you. I don’t stress too much, I have over the years moved away from rigid plans and challenges and leant into the need for mood reading and choosing based on vibes not because of a to-do list or anything else. HOWEVER, I have started doing flexible TBRs again and I really enjoyed that process, and I am aware that there are definitely books that I want to make a priority for the coming year, so here we are.
Series
Farseer Trilogy
I have tried multiple time to read this series and I have never gotten past the first book and then I leave it too long and I need to reread and it’s a whole thing. My plan for 2026 is to spend an entire month reading all three books in one go or at least with a book in between. I have heard such great things about the entire series that I need to get into it.
The Stormlight Archive
I know you’re not supposed read all of these at the same time and I am following a reading order of sorts so, although they are all in the same section they won’t be read consecutively. I will probably end up rereading the entire Mistborn Era 1 as well. I adored it the first time round and I don’t want to miss anything in the upcoming books. It might be overkill though so please let me know what you think and if I could get away with not rereading.
Mistborn Era 2
I am determined that I need to get through the Cosmere universe and I cannot wait. I really enjoyed the Mistborn Era 1 so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy these ones just as much! The only issue I have is that they are MEATY books so I’m glad I have set my goal for this year at 50, because it will take most of my time getting through all of these but I cannot wait.
Other Cosmere works
The Bone Season
My all-time favourite series and I have fallen off the radar with the newer releases. I remember really loving the first three and I have still really loved them on the rereads I have managed to complete. The aim is to get through the entire series by the end of the year and be ready for the next one whenever that comes out.
Roots of Chaos
I have cheated with this one and added the smaller book in as well even though I technically don’t have space for it, but I really want to complete the entirety of Shannon’s work this year and I loved The Priory of the Orange Tree the first time I read it. I am more than thrilled to have the opportunity to jump back into the world.
The War of Lost Hearts
These books have been bought and sat on my shelf or in my pre-orders purely based on me loving the Crowns of Nyaxia duology and the rave reviews. I’m just sad that I haven’t made it a priority since then but this is the year.
So that’s all of them plus a sneaky other one. Do I think I’m going to manage all of these? No not even half but it’s always fun to have goals, no matter how unattainable they seem to be.
