Another life update, and empty promises.
I feel so out of touch with this blog. I haven’t been reading too much and the thought of trying to catch up on the book reviews that I was missing felt completely undoable especially with a stressful pregnancy and no motivation. Well, I have a small update… Baby boy is here.

Without further ado, I would love to introduce you to Emmerson. He decided to make his arrival nearly 5 weeks early on the 14th October and ended up spending over a week in the special baby unit to be monitored. But we’ve now been home for a little while and things feel like they are slowly transitioning to a new normal. My reading still isn’t back to where it was but it feels weird not to be documenting my life on here anymore, so although I cannot commit to writing book reviews as often as I did and the bookish content may be a little more generic. I want to document my life not only as a reader but as a parent.
I cannot wait to start writing posts all about him and our life and I hope you will stay around for the journey, especially as we start to find our feet.

In other news, I have also had a bit of a redesign. I really loved the yellow, but there was something of a disconnect with the blog and content so I’ve started the huge task of updating the images but bear with me if you see some of the old images. Having a newborn is definitely not a joke.

What do you think of the new design? And any tips for a new parent and getting time to read without falling asleep straightaway?

Congratulations! My birth date is also 14th Oct. Glad Emmerson have the same birth date.
Aw this is the cutest! He was supposed to be born a whole month later!
Oh, congratulations and thank you for the update. Not a parent but a friend of many parents – sleep when the baby sleeps and care less about housework are my top tips. My best friend’s top tip is use some commercial baby foods from the start, instead of home cooking everything, then when you’ve got flu and someone has to step in to help, they know the taste of the stuff you can just buy in!
Sleep is definitely elusive at the moment as is getting a few moments to myself! Hoping things will get better with a more sturdy routine, and will keep that in mind when it comes to food. Thanks for the tips!
