September Wrap Up | 2019

This month still wasn’t as good as I have been in previous months and I completely lost sight of my TBR about halfway through. But I was still reading so I wasn’t too worried. I have read some really giant books this month so I’m still not beating myself up.

We’ll see how well next month will go especially with me being Florida for the majority.

A quick roundup of the month:

  • 12 books read
  • 3 e-arcs
  • 4,752 pages
  • 14 blog posts published (not including this one)
  • 80/80 books read for Goodreads Challenge (Completed!)
  • This is How it Happened – I don’t what to say about this one, everything seemed to feel a little anti-climatic and rushed. Probably won’t be reading it again.
  • The Exchange – This was my first e-arc of the month and the idea of time travelling students really appealed to me, I just wish there was more books in this series.
  • A Time to Kill – I have heard amazing things about this book, and I wasn’t disappointed, I really liked the storyline and the way that the characters all worked. Great read.
  • Sycamore Row – This is the sequel to A Time to Kill and although it mentions the same characters the similarities end there, which I was actually a little bit upset about! I did really enjoy this read, but I did think it was missing some of the drama of A Time to Kill.
  • Scars Like Wings – I think this e-arc may just be my favourite of the year, the characters were well written the drama and the sympathy was well done. All-round fantastic read.
  • The Grace Year – This was an e-arc that I liked the concept off and although I wasn’t a huge fan of the time jumping I did really like the concept. Just wished we would have seen more of the characters.
  • Rebel Belle – A reread I didn’t realise was happening. I kinda wish I hadn’t wasted my time on this one. I don’t particularly like the characters and I think the potential was wasted.
  • Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine – I don’t even have words for how much I loved this book. I did think I was going to DNF it but I’m so glad I made my way all the way through. Beautiful writing.
  • The Archived – This is a book I have been meaning to get to for a really long time. I have to say it’s not my favourite of Victoria Schwab’s work, but it was a nice read.
  • Deja Dead – I picked this one up because I was a huge fan of the TV show “Bones” and I wanted to read the books behind it. I have to say it was a little hard to follow but I did enjoy it.
  • Rivers of London – My last proper read for the month and I just felt a little let down by the writing style of this one. I found the main character spent too much time looking at women for this one to rank highly.
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – The reread continues! My favourite book series ever!
