NANOWRIMO 2020 | Midway Point
I started writing this post and then realised that I hadn’t actually announced that I was taking part so SURPRISEEEE. I’m doing NaNoWriMo this year and for once I am actually really loving my story and writing it. I have had a few bum days mainly due to either not feeling 100% or mental health taking a dive. I am however on track to finish early and I’m half a chapter away from finishing the first act of my story.

Which brings me onto the gamechanger for this year which was the way I plotted my story, there have been many years where I have thought I have had a good outline but then got into the story and had no idea how to structure it. So this time around I used Katytastic’s 3 Act/ 9 Block/ 27 Chapter Outline to really work out what was going to happen and how, it completely changed the course of my story and I adore the way it is going and how I think it’s going to end. It has also really helped me with my word count because I know how long each chapter should be.
I’m feeling really positive this year and I’m so glad that I decided to take part this year and I think it’s going to be my favourite novel yet.

Are you taking part this year? Let me know what some of your techniques are to get started!

I’ve nearly written 20,000 words for my first draft, it’s the first time I’ve taken part in Nano for a couple of years. Good luck with the rest of your book!
CONGRATS! What an achievement, sometimes I think about leaving doing NaNo and then my heart pushes me to do it again. I don’t even know what I would do for November if I didn’t at least try!
Congrats on doing nanowrimo & good luck!! Having that strong outline can help so much to reduce the panic inn the month 🤣
It has definitely helped this time around and I don’t think I could have done half as well as I have done without it!
