New Year, New Life
This blog has become a place full of tumbleweeds and no content. I have no excuses just a realisation that I was never going to catch up with my reviews and I wasn’t particularly excited to either. My reading has taken a dip since having our little boy and with no surprise so has the time I have to actually write content.
The end of 2022
The reason why I haven’t taken a running leap at the start of the year is because the end of last year was like a punch to the gut. My husband and I decided to end our marriage, I entered into single parenthood and moved in with my little sister. The transition period has been a rocky one, and there has been a lot of me trying to figure out where I stand and who I am now that I’m unmarried.
I think the biggest knock has been to my reading. Not only do I not have time for reading but I have really struggled to find books I’m excited about and that hold my attention. There have been a few wins but nothing substantial and definitely nothing I was excited to write here about which has been a little disappointing. We’re now halfway through 2023 and things seem to be picking up and I feel like I have found a steady path.
Where am I now?
I am so happy to say I have moved on and fallen in love again, quick I know. It became pretty clear that the marriage had been over for a lot longer than either of us was willing to admit. We’re now co-parenting which took a little bit of getting used to but are being better parents separately than we ever were together. My reading has taken a bigger part in my life and I finally feel like I’m back on an even keel again.
Future plans
The hope is that my reading will continue to be a priority and my posting will be more consistent on here. I don’t know what that will look like at as of right now. I’m not sure I’ll be doing TBRs but I can definitely look at doing wrap ups. Reviews will be happening and I might look at changing the format a little but that is something I will be looking at over a couple of weeks.
