Books that Should be Adapted into Netflix Shows/Movies | Top Ten Tuesday
I really love this prompt! I have so many books that I think should become TV shows and I have tried to choose books that haven’t been commissioned into series already!
On with this week’s list.
- The Graveyard Book | I love this book and I think it is the perfect set up for either a TV show or movie. I love the idea of an animated story as well. It would be amazing.
- Harry Potter | I know there are already films but I would really love for this series to be made into a series that dives into the details and all the things that the films missed.
- The Bronze Horseman | I adore the romance in this book, the history and the setting. I really think this would be an amazing series with some really great stories.
- 10 Minutes, 38 Seconds in this Strange World | I love how rich this story is and all the different characters and plotlines. I think the scenery and the setting would make for interesting reading.
- The Bear and the Nightingale | I haven’t read the rest of this series but I definitely think there is so much folklore that this would be such a beautiful viewing experience.
- Girl, Serpent, Thorn | I really loved this book, I think the mythology and the relationships in this book were really loved this book. I would love to see this on the big screen.
- Middlegame | The storyline of this book is distracting but the characters are brilliantly written. I loved reading this book and I really want to see this developed into a TV show.
- Circe | I cannot put into words how much I loved this book and the retelling. I love Greek myths but this is something else, I think this might be one of my favourite books.
- Maisie Dobbs | I was overwhelmed with the emotion in this book. It is one of those books that would have something added by being put on the big screen. I actually think that this would work best as a TV show.
- Illuminae | I kind of just want to see the banter and the team working together. I think it would be a great TV show and the series really lends itself to a documentary style.

The bear and the nightingale (and the rest of the series) is on my list too. You should really get to the next books in the series, they were even better! I have Miller’s other book on my list, as I still need to read Circe, shame on me!

After the superb job Neil Gaiman did with Good Omens, I have no doubt he could make a fabulous limited series of any of his books.
I’d love to see what CGI could do 19 years after the first film. Spielberg said the reason Peeves was excluded from the movies was because the tech people couldn’t render him realistically. It could definitely be done now.
