Until I Die is the second book in the Revenants series. I’m giving this book series a chance before I decide whether or not I’m donating them, seeing as they have sat for so long on my shelf.
I found this book to be harder to read than the first. The tropes are getting more ridiculous and I’m struggling to find any kind of love in this one. I’m finding that I’m hating the characters and their relationship is beginning to anger me more and more. I think my love for the tropes is wearing off and fast.
Until I Die was slower than the first and there seemed to be a lack of plot points if I’m completely honest, there was a lot of dithering and not an awful lot of action. I was disappointed. I thought the whole point of the book was too slow and not developed enough.
Maybe this book is heading for the charity shop quicker than I thought it would be.
My favourite character in Until I Die had to be Ambrose. He made me laugh and his character was definitely more developed in this book than the previous. We saw a lot more of his character, and learnt more about what drives him as a person. It was comforting to see really.
Can I have two least favourite characters? Vincent and Kate basically melded into the same person in Until I Die. They were both going through the varying degrees of torture and it drove me insane, the incessant back and to. I was bored of it and by the end of the book I was kinda happy it was all over.
My recommendation is now running low, I don’t think based on Until I Die I would recommend this series. I’m attempting the final book as we speak, so I’ll make a final decision based on that!
