October Wrap Up & November TBR | 2023
This was always going to be a busy month and reading was definitely not going to be a priority. My little boy turned 2 and we had a lot of things going on, going away and birthday parties. It also the month of pumpkin picking and turnip carving so we had a lot of weekends that were taken up with busy activities. So although the numbers aren’t as high I’m proud of the books that I got to this month.
Stats for my October Wrap Up
- Books finished – 7
- DNF – 0
- New reads – 6
- Rereads – 1
- Pages read – 2458

Song of Silver, Flame Like Night
Not only is this book beautiful to look at but the story inside is rich and diverse. I loved all the twists and turns and how well thought out the characters were. Will definitely be preordering the next one.
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fangs and Frenemies
I wouldn’t say this was a bad book, and I haven’t ruled out reading the next one in the series I just found it to be a little overwhelming. There was a lot going on and the development and explanations just weren’t my favourite.
⭐⭐⭐

- Wicked King by Julia Sykes – ⭐⭐⭐
- Fangs and Frenemies by Sierra Cross – ⭐⭐⭐
- The Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore – ⭐⭐⭐
- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Good Girl, Bad Blood by Holly Jackson – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Song of Silver, Flame Like Night by Amelie Wen Zhao – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

A Darker Shade of Magic
I have bought The Fragile Threads of Power but didn’t want to jump back into this world without rereading the books that started it all. This world is one of my favourites and I cannot wait to revisit all of my favourite characters.
The Ballad of Never After
I was quite surprised at how much I enjoyed this series and wanted to jump into the next one. I wasn’t a huge fan of Caraval so I didn’t expect too much but it has really grabbed my attention.

As Good As Dead
The finale to the series, and I’m a little unsure if I’m honest. Good Girl, Bad Blood wasn’t my absolute fave, so I’m hoping As Good As Dead can redeem the series for me.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter is a comfort read for me and I usually put the audiobook on in the middle of the night when I’m struggling to sleep and need to calm my brain down. It will probably take me a while to get through but it’s like a warm cup of tea.

November TBR
Basically this TBR remains unchanged, I read a few books but none that were on this list, which is a little annoying. However I’m giving myself grace and really leaning into the mood reader thing! So maybe some of these will disappear next month or maybe not!

What are you planning on reading this month? And did you find any new favourites last month? I would love to know.
