Books for My Younger Self | Top Ten Tuesday
I really enjoyed looking through all the books I read when I was a kid, so I chose some of my absolute favourites, would you be surprised that Harry Potter is on this list? I’m not.
On with this week’s list.

- Famous Five | These were such a great part of my childhood and they were some of my absolute favourites. I cannot wait til I have kids of my own and we can share them together.
- Harry Potter | I think you all know this was going to be here…
- Malory Towers | This was another series I truly adored, I think I could have chosen any of Blyton’s books for this prompt because they were all brilliantly written.
- Lord Loss | I definitely went through an emo phase and this was a huge part of it, these books were amazing and I am definitely going to be rereading this series.
- Twilight | Who wasn’t Team Edward back in the day? I fully understand the issues surrounding these books but they were definitely a big part of me growing up.

- Cirque du Freak | Another part of my emo phase, I really loved vampires and these books were the perfect contradiction to Twilight sparkly vampires.
- Eragon | The books in which the main character faints more than he’s awake. This series had such a great premise and I really loved it to begin with but they went down hill quickly and I don’t think I ended up finishing it.
- The Boy in the Striped Pajamas | This book had such an impact on me when I was younger. It was the first book about WWII that I read from a differing perspective.
- Goodnight Mister Tom | I adored this book when I was younger and the film ALWAYS makes me sob. Such a great book and if you haven’t read it you definitely should!
- Howl’s Moving Castle | I don’t even know what to say about this book! I love all the different characters and the world that’s been created.

Have you read any of these? Any you would recommend? Let me know!

I really enjoyed eragon when I was in 7th grade and then I never finished it because I got super into twilight. I hope I can try and finish it one day! The boy in the stripped pajamas destroyed me. I only watched the movie. After that I vowed never to read the book because I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle being gutted a second time. Such a great list of reads!!
I have such fond memories of reading The Famous Five. My brother, sister and I would read them together.
When I was in Junior school (so about 8/9) I was obsessed with the Animal Ark books!
