Authors I’ve Read the Most Books By | Top Ten Tuesday
On with this week’s list.
J K Rowling

Harry Potter will always be a favourite series of mine, especially now that my mental health has taken a nosedive. But seeing as there is 7 books in the original series and the other adult books in her repertoire, she is firmly on this list.
Sarah J Maas

I seem to adore everything that Maas has to write, I love her worlds and the characters she dreams up! I love seeing what she has managed to come up with and how everything is going to pan out.
Kelley Armstrong

I have a love-hate relationship with Armstrong. Some of her books have really blown me away and others I have kinda hated so her books are kind of on the back burner at the moment.
Leigh Bardugo

Another love-hate relationship, I adore Six of Crows but absolutely HATE the Grisha trilogy. i have Ninth House on my list and I’m hoping to jump into that one this month.
M. C Beaton

I have only just started reading these series and I am loving them so far. I do really want to make some time and read a few more before the year is out! They’re just such fun.
Agatha Christie

I had a whole year where I listened to the Poirot mysteries on my audible and LOVED it. I really need to pick it back up again because the stories and crimes were always dead interesting!
Cassandra Clare

I really hate this series. I have tried to reread it recently but it was another fail. I have read the entire Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices but I think that’s me done with Clare.
Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

I loved The Illuminae Files, they are some of my favourite books. I will say I wasn’t as impressed with the Aurora Cycle but I’m hoping the last book will redeem the series!
Barbara Longley

These are such guilty pleasure reads. I loved the easiness of the romance and the way they all end up having some sort of happy ending. I cannot wait to jump straight back into the series.
George R.R Martin

I have read the entire Song of Ice and Fire series and I loved it. I am very much impatiently waiting for the release of the final book in the series but fear I may be too old to read it before it comes out.

Are any of your favourites on here? Let me know in the comments!

I forgot J K Rowling – not that she needs any more publicity! And am aiming to catch up on the Agatha Christie over time (Murder of Roger Ackroyd is next)
Great list, thanks for sharing!

I am definitely a Potter-head and have read all of that series and am up to date on Cormoron Strike as well. Love M.C. Beaton and I ought to have thought to list her as a most read author. The Agatha Raisin books are great.
Do you think Martin will actually put another book out? It left me on tenderhooks the way he ended the last one and I fear he let the TV series end things. (sad)
I bet a lot of us have J. K. Rowling on our lists.
Sarah J Maas is one of my most read authors, Leigh Bardugo and JK Rowling fall just shy of the top ten though I’ve read seven books each of theirs.

I have the same reaction to Kelley Armstrong’s work. Either I love it or I don’t like it at all. 🙂
My TTT.
I’ve seen Agatha Christie on so many lists today! I haven’t read any of her books, but I would like too. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.
I think Poirot is a great place to start they have a good mix of humour and seriousness! <3
Beyond Rowling I haven’t read any of these (and HP will always be a happy place for me; I’m glad it is for you as well), but I have a friend who just started listening to the Agatha Raisin audiobooks. She says they are very cheerful comforts to have while doing chores.
Yess! Agatha Raisin is a great read, such funny characters and there is a great sense of village life in them! <3
JK Rowling made my list too. I started reading Song of Ice and Fire, but I quit because I don’t know if the author will ever finish the series.
I really love the series and I am glad I read it but I agree, I’m SO impatient for the next books! <3
I’ve read all but the last Agatha Raisin and love her dearly! So glad you love her too!
How do you feel about JK Rowling’s outspoken trans women phobia? Has it changed your views of the Harry Potter books?
Sorry about the late reply – I have been a little MIA whilst I deal with some personal stuff.
I think for me I have managed to separate the two, and I know a lot of people are saying that you shouldn’t but me as a person I’m not able to write off the series that makes me feel better when I’m having a really awful time, or the series that saw me through some really crap times in my childhood. Maybe that makes me selfish but I can’t see a way around it.
I don’t agree with what JK Rowling is saying and I believe she should be held accountable for what she’s saying as someone with the platform she has. But I do think that this has led to Twitter, in general, turning into a very toxic environment with “cancel culture” becoming rife. I have seen book bloggers and bookstagrams being “cancelled” because they haven’t actively posted about BLM, or haven’t done what is deemed as enough, without any consideration for what they might be doing behind the scenes. I believe that people should be pulled up if they are doing something that is damaging or harmful to another group of people but in a constructive manner, all I see at the moment is a lot vile insults, and attacking people.
I don’t think the world is going to become a better place if this is how we continue to treat one another. Nobody is born perfect and there is always room for growth and education and at the moment (JK Rowling, not included) there doesn’t seem to be the grace or allowance for that.
Sorry for the long comment, and I hope what I have said comes across the way I wanted it to!
It’s a great comment, well worth waiting for, and I agree with you about Jo Rowling, Harry Potter, and cancel culture.
I just recently finished up the Throne of Glass series and I need more from Maas.
I have yet to finish the series, I want to reread all the other books first, I’m aiming for the end of the year, but we will see! <3
