Waiting on Wednesday | Crooked Kingdom

25th May 2016

If you haven’t read Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo, you are really missing out. Six of Crows is one of my favourite books of all time. The story was impeccable and the characters were well moulded and rounded. Well my Waiting on Wednesday Crooked Kingdom is going to be the continuation, and I can’t wait!

Six of Crows follows a group of ruffians carry out one of the most challenging of heists. The suspense and the thrill that happens in this book is unreal. The things these characters go through is not for the faint hearted. The integration into the Grisha world is flawless and not overbearing. I can’t really explain my love for this book because I adore the characters and the way they interact with each other, it was a seamless team and one which worked for the entirety of the plot. I wrote an entire review here.

I cannot recommend this book enough, and I am expecting great things from the sequel. Hopefully some more violence and some more of the good ole’ revenge. Saying that though, I don’t really want to know much about what is going to happen, I really want to go into it blind, without ruining any of it for me. It could become one of my top reads for 2016, but that’s just wishful thinking on my part.

If you have read the Grisha series and wasn’t all that sold, well neither was I. Bardugo’s writing has much improved and her development of characters is now something to be rivalled. I wouldn’t base your opinion on that earlier series because Six of Crows is a much better look at Bardugo’s talents.

So that’s my Waiting on Wednesday Crooked Kingdom for this week. Let me know which books you’re excited for and recommend them to me, because you know I don’t buy enough books as it is.
