Top 10 Sequels I Wish I Had Read/Bought in 2016 | Blogmas Day 13
This is one that is actually sat on my shelf waiting to be read. It was one that I always meant to get to but never got around to it. I love this series, it’s really well written and put together and there is so much political intrigue. I’m completely in love. It’s definitely on the top of my list for 2017 reads and top 10 sequels.
The Runaway King
I didn’t even read the first one this year but this is a big one, I’ve wanted to read this series for a really long time but it has never made into my Amazon basket. Which is a massive shame, and I think if I receive money for Christmas I’ll be adding it straight to my bag and checking out with it! Plus, because it’s been so long I might buy the third one and binge the entire series. BINGING EVERYWHERE!
Library of Souls
I loved this series, well the first book anyway, the second was a little meh to be honest and I was debating on not carrying on with the series. But it’s one of those things, I’m a control freak and I really struggle to stop reading a series midway through. It’s one of those weird bookworm quirks. I don’t know if I’ll keep the series on my shelf but I have to give the last book a shot before I donate it to the charity shop. Hence why it is on my top 10 sequels.
Prodigy and Champion
I think I might have read Prodigy a long time ago and I have the entire series sat on my shelf just waiting for me to pick them back up again. It will be one that I will get around to it. I know I will. It’s just finding the time and committing to reading the entire series. I’ve heard conflicting information about the ending as well which puts me off if I’m honest. We will see. I want to read it all, just afraid of the disappointment I suppose.
The Silkworm and Career of Evil
I loved The Cuckoo’s Calling, in fact I was super impressed with the story and the mystery, so I don’t know why it has taken me this long to get round to reading the other two. I picked them up super cheap in Ireland and it’s going to be one of my favourites to start reading again. I’m going to jump back into this series as soon as I can, because it shouldn’t have taken this long.
Forest of Ruin
The Age of Legends series is one that I love to read but don’t seem to track the releases. It wasn’t one of those that I was awaiting the release off and I still have to grab it from the bookstore. I do love this series and the folklore that seems to be running all the way through it. It’s one of those, the politics and the mythical creatures, a good series.
The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There
This was a series that was so full of magic that I couldn’t help but love it. LIKE I SERIOUSLY WANT TO CURL UP INTO THE CLOUDS OF LOVELINESS OF THIS BOOK. It was one of those happy books that I found comforting and something completely different. It will be bought in the New Year, I might take the risk and buy all the books. I adore the characters and the world.
The Well of Ascension
The Final Empire was one of my favourites this summer, and I wanted to jump straight into the sequel. I bought the second one whilst on my mini-honeymoon in Ireland, but somehow it was put on the shelf and never looked at again. Just one of those things I guess, life and other books get in the way. OKAY I’M A BAD PERSON.
This is a complete gulity pleasure read. I mean the characters weren’t well rounded and the story was full of plotholes and insta-love but you know I LOVE IT. I’m not even guilty about it. Seriously I can’t wait to read more about the ‘love’ story and the world. Plus it doesn’t hurt that the main guy is completely hot does it?
Through the Zombie Glass
Alice in Wonderland takes on zombies. It was a good book with a cool take on zombie killing. It was one of those that seemed to slip off the radar. I wanted to read the next one and see where the story is going to go. I want to buy them as soon as possible.
Do you have any suggestions on what I should buy/read first then let me know? Or if you’ve read any of these and think that I shouldn’t then also save me the time.
