Can good win against evil or is he doomed with his tainted demonic side to fail?A light, racy tale with a definite feel-good factor this will appeal to many readers.
I don’t know what to say about this book, but I have to be honest. This book was not for me. I went into it really excited. I usually enjoy books about angels, and this one seemed different because it wasn’t an angel falling in love with a human, it was more about the consequences. Well I have to say, the writing style wasn’t the greatest, it was very jumpy and nothing was really developed. I was kind of disappointed in a way that the story went the way it did. Unfortunately, I felt no real emotions for the characters and I wish there had been more substance to them.
I also didn’t really understand the Lacey storyline at the beginning, it was a hard one for me. Maybe it was because I thought that was where the story was going but it just randomly dropped off, or was a weird way of introducing heaven. I think I was more interested in that storyline than the actual plot.
My favourite character had to be Priest Dominique. He seemed to be the only one in the entire story with his head screwed on correctly. I thought that there could have been way more talk about what was going on in his life, and why he was the way he was. I struggled with his philosophy, he believes in everything but chooses to become a Catholic, I don’t know I found that to be problematic at best.
Jericho, by far my least favourite character in Tainted Angel. I had no idea what drove him to do the things he did do. I had no understanding and therefore sympathy for him as a character, in fact, I found him mildly irritating throughout. He wasn’t the greatest of protagonists. I just struggled with his outlook on life and the quest he was on.
In terms of recommendations, I don’t think I would recommend Tainted Angel. I just didn’t enjoy the story or the characters, so I would probably tell you that there are better angel books out there.
