It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Books I read last week

The Silver Queen is a review book that was sent to me via the author, if you don’t remember I raved about The Gilded King back in June. I was really happy to have the sequel and have the chance to read it. I will say it wasn’t as good as the first but it’s still a solid favourite!

Listened to last week/Currently listening

I am still on my Poirot hit and this is the next in the series. I don’t know how I’m going to like this one as Poirot doesn’t seem to be in this one much. But we’ll see. I’m really liking listening to them at work, so I might even finish this one off this week.

Currently Reading

I personally think this book is why I haven’t read anything else this week. Considering how small it is it’s taking me forever to get through it. I hate the writing style and the fact that it takes 300 words to describe something that really shouldn’t take that long!

Up Next

This is a book that I have heard people rave about and I’m really excited to give it a go. I am a little apprehensive to review it though and it may be the very rare occasion that if I don’t like it, I might not review it. Saves the drama!

So there’s my week! How was yours? Let me know in the comments!

I listened to the audiobook of The Hate U Give at the end of last year. I loved it, but decided before I started that I wasn’t going to review it. I felt like there wasn’t a big need since there were so many reviews out there at the time and I actually think I enjoyed it more knowing I was listening just for me. Hope you love it!

    • That might be what I do. I just can’t bear to have the “wrong” opinion and upset a load of people. I’m hoping I like it but it just seems to be one of those books that a lot of people will be very sensitive about!

I’ve never read Gregory Maguire and you are not tempting me to begin. The Hate U Give is on my Kindle but I haven’t had a chance to read it yet. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
