May Wrap Up | The month with no reading

I have had the slowest month of reading so there isn’t really a lot to go on my May Wrap Up. I have had a really busy month, with it being my honeymoon and having to deal with the jetlag of all that I haven’t really been in the mood for reading. Plus I am really behind on my assignment for the professional certificate I’m working towards at work.

I think these months are always the worst because I always feel awful about my lack of reading but at the same time don’t feel like reading anymore. It’s a vicious cycle. I also think this isn’t something that’s going to be fixed in the coming month. I’m still not feeling like wanting to read. So we shall see how well that goes. I am still hoping to complete my 2018 must-read list. Which surprisingly I am still on track with only because I managed to read two books on the list a couple months back.

On with my May Wrap Up.

May Wrap Up | The month with no readingDragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabaldon
four-stars
Series: Outlander #2
Also in this series: Outlander
Genres: Historical Fiction, Romance

From the author of Outlander... a magnificent epic that once again sweeps us back in time to the drama and passion of 18th-century Scotland...

For twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland's majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones ...about a love that transcends the boundaries of time ...and about James Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his ....

Now a legacy of blood and desire will test her beautiful copper-haired daughter, Brianna, as Claire's spellbinding journey of self-discovery continues in the intrigue-ridden Paris court of Charles Stuart ...in a race to thwart a doomed Highlands uprising ...and in a desperate fight to save both the child and the man she loves....

I brought Dragonfly in Amber with me on my honeymoon, and I’m so glad I did, I have to say I am completely addicted to this series. I love the characters and the plotline and story. I think this is definitely one series that I will carry on with, and will have a special place on my shelves. This series has the unique value in that it has both a great politically storyline and romance! I really enjoy reading the books and finding out more about the characters and the world they find themselves in.

IRL

This was a really busy month for us! And one of the main reasons why this May Wrap Up is so short is that we were on our honeymoon. We went all the way to Orlando Florida, and spent two weeks in the world of Mickey Mouse. We had such a great time, it was the perfect way to relax! It was so good in fact that we have just booked to go again next October, and we can’t wait to start the planning process. I am a huge planner so Disney speaks to my soul, we’re staying on property and we’re planning to do Disney exclusively! I’m so excited, it’s unbelievable, I love the whole Disney atmosphere. So that was my month.

Have you had a good month of reading? Or were you completely distracted like me? Let me know in the comments!
