Making Slow Progress | #IMWAYR #7

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

Books I Read Last Week

My motivation has seemed to die a slow death. I have been really busy with work and trying to find something new. I also think this was one of the worst books for me to have jumped into, it was slow paced and the characters were unlikeable and I just couldn’t relate to them on any level which was a shame really as it’s kind of put a dampener on my wonderful progress of last week.

Listened to last week/Currently listening

I am still listening to A Reaper at the Gates but haven’t gotten around to finishing it yet. I am really enjoying it though. It’s a really good addition to the series and I think the character development in this book is probably some of my favourites for the series.

Currently Reading

I was so excited to read this book, and I have heard nothing but good things about it. I’m not very far into it but so far so good. I do have to say it’s slower paced than I originally thought it was going to be, but in a good way. I’m truly hooked, and desperately trying to figure out what happened and why!

Up Next…

I’m swapping my TBR around a little as I am DYING to read the next installment which may or may not have something to do with the fact that I am making my way through the tv series on Prime. I love this series, and I think I am having slight Jamie Fraser withdrawals to be honest! So I thought I would indulge myself a little.

Did you read anything good last week or did you get in a rut like I did? Let me know in the comments!

Slow is fine! I’ve only read one Hannah Kent book, The Good People, and it was pretty slow, too. That and the beautiful writing may be hallmarks of who she is.\ as a writer.

I heard so many good things about The Diviners! I heard that the audiobook is also really good! My favorite read from last week was most definitely The Midnight Star by Marie Lu; although I’ve had two 3-star reads.

I read a few pages of The Diviners and set it aside. I just wasn’t grabbed. I may try it again someday. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

I’ve noticed Libba Bray around, but her books are probably not for me. I’m curious about Burial Rites. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES , where you’ll discover what I’ve read and done.
