Lethal White | Can’t Wait Wednesday

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, created to discuss books that book bloggers haven’t read yet and they’re usually books yet to be released. I ran across it when looking for new content ideas for The Book Blog Life, and it looked like so much fun. We’re back to books that have only just been released!

Lethal White | Can’t Wait WednesdayLethal White by Robert Galbraith, J.K. Rowling
Series: Cormoran Strike #4
Also in this series: The Cuckoo's Calling
Genres: Crime
Published by Sphere

“I seen a kid killed…He strangled it, up by the horse.”

When Billy, a troubled young man, comes to private eye Cormoran Strike’s office to ask for his help investigating a crime he thinks he witnessed as a child, Strike is left deeply unsettled. While Billy is obviously mentally distressed, and cannot remember many concrete details, there is something sincere about him and his story. But before Strike can question him further, Billy bolts from his office in a panic.

Trying to get to the bottom of Billy’s story, Strike and Robin Ellacott—once his assistant, now a partner in the agency—set off on a twisting trail that leads them through the backstreets of London, into a secretive inner sanctum within Parliament, and to a beautiful but sinister manor house deep in the countryside.

And during this labyrinthine investigation, Strike’s own life is far from straightforward: his newfound fame as a private eye means he can no longer operate behind the scenes as he once did. Plus, his relationship with his former assistant is more fraught than it ever has been—Robin is now invaluable to Strike in the business, but their personal relationship is much, much trickier than that.

I loved the Cormoran Strike series and I’m so excited to read more of the storyline. I will say that the ending of Career of Evil was a little disappointing, and I’m intrigued to see how the story will be carried on especially with the issues that were raised. I also want to see what the characters are up to and how they are coping with all the changes.

Have you managed to get your hands on Lethal White yet? Let me know what you thought!

I’m not really a mystery/crime/thriller type reader but I’ve heard lots of good things about this series… 🙂
