It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
Books I Read Last Week
I seemed to have found my reading motivation again and I am SO happy. I read a huge amount of books last week and I loved having the read books pile up on my bedside cabinet. I have reviews for A Court of Wings and Ruin, A Court of Frost and Starlight, Obsidio and Wilde Like Me. You can either click on the names of the books or the covers above! A review for Caraval should be posted later on this afternoon. But last week was a very good week for reading. Feeling very proud.

Elias and Laia are running for their lives. After the events of the Fourth Trial, Martial soldiers hunt the two fugitives as they flee the city of Serra and undertake a perilous journey through the heart of the Empire.
Laia is determined to break into Kauf—the Empire’s most secure and dangerous prison—to save her brother, who is the key to the Scholars’ survival. And Elias is determined to help Laia succeed, even if it means giving up his last chance at freedom.
But dark forces, human and otherworldly, work against Laia and Elias. The pair must fight every step of the way to outsmart their enemies: the bloodthirsty Emperor Marcus, the merciless Commandant, the sadistic Warden of Kauf, and, most heartbreaking of all, Helene—Elias’s former friend and the Empire’s newest Blood Shrike.
Bound to Marcus’s will, Helene faces a torturous mission of her own—one that might destroy her: find the traitor Elias Veturius and the Scholar slave who helped him escape…and kill them both.
What a way to get back into audiobooks than with one of my favourite authors and series. I love this book and the narrators for me are one of the best things about listening to this story. I have tried to read the physical copy and I just cannot bring myself to do it. I get so drawn into the world and book when I listen to the audiobook. So this was a complete win for me! Check out my full review here.
This month I had a big OOPs moment. I have a list of books I need to read, and every month I’m supposed to have a book from that list on each of my TBR for the year and this month I didn’t. In fact I completely forgot about it. So The Diviners is part of that list and I’m actually excited to read it and find out if it’s any good.
This is the next installment in the An Ember in the Ashes series, and it’s one that I cannot wait to dive into. I loved A Torch Against the Night and I’m hoping that this next book will be just as good. I don’t know whether I can bear it if it didn’t live up to my expectations. I’ll let you know how it lives up to expectations in a book review no doubt so keep an eye out for that.
This another one from my books I need to read list that I’m trying make up for, seeing as I haven’t read any books this month and I’m one behind. This book is physically beautiful so I’m looking forward to seeing if the wonderful reviews are right on the mark or if it’s overhyped.
