If you didn’t know I’m partaking in the wonderful torture of National Novel Writing Month. I hadn’t planned to until well into September so it wasn’t a lot of time to start building on idea or even plotting a story. Who doesn’t love a challenge?
Well here it my first NaNoWriMo update and I am one week and one day in. I have written as of yesterday 13,336 and I think I’m doing okay.
In terms of how easy this week has been, it started off well. I wanna say it started off extremely well, and then my body started to work against me. The first weekend of NaNo I came down with the world’s worst cold. Like seriously felt like my head was being beaten with a mallet, so writing has been on and off since, I’m doing my best to catch up when I miss a day but with the added complication of THIS ILLNESS WILL NOT GO AWAY. It’s proving a little difficult, it has taken over my first NaNoWriMo update.
I’m ploughing through, watching a lot of comfort TV and writing when and if I can. I can always do a whole load of writing this weekend, or so that’s the plan. Well that was the plan for this weekend as well, but looked how that one turned out.
All in all I’m impressed with how well I’m coping this year, usually by this point (bar one year) I’m floundering slightly and the panic begins to set in. I’m not feeling that this year – yet.
I am definitely up for doing these updates once a week for you guys, but let me know what you want in them. I would love your feedback and a little bit of guidance! Back to boosting that word count!
