February TBR | 2019

Posted 2nd February 2019 by Jordann @thebookbloglife in 2019, tbr / 3 Comments

Can we just appreciate that it’s actually February? January seemed to drag on for like 11 years, however it was great for my reading like really good for my reading, 11 books last month, so make sure you check out my wrap up! I think I’m going to stay pretty ambitious with my reading on my February TBR, try and keep the momentum going.

Reading for pleasure

This category is fairly small purely because I’m taking part in so many challenges and book clubs but it’ll be here. They just wont be the priority reading list.

  1. I joined the Beat the Backlist challenge to help me tackle those books that have been sitting on my shelf for a while. I think most of us bloggers have issues with this, but it makes sense when we are privy to so many releases. Hope you enjoy picking up more books out of your comfort zone. There are several genres I’d like to explore more of as well. Happy February!

    • I saw that challenge and wanted to take part but I’d already set my 2019 Books I Need to Read list up and I am definitely in too many challenges for my own good! I definitely think getting rid of those books on my TBR has become harder now that I’ve found Netgalley! It’s a curse really all those free books haha! xo

I have definitely added the majority of these to my TBR pile for 2019. Thanks again for this great blog and the great recommendations. I don’t want to topple your TBR pile but my first book of 2019 I finished I absolutely loved and I am telling everyone about it. The book is called “The Winnowing” by Patrick Garner and it’s the first book of the series. The author’s description on his Amazon page cracked me up – “Greek goddesses are alive and well and living in Pennsylvania.” (reminded me of the movie Dogma). The book really does have everything – romance, action, mythology, and more. I love the idea of goddesses having to come to contemporary America to save the world (kind of like superheroes!). I cannot wait to see what happens next in this trilogy. I really hope you will check it out. Here is the website: http://www.thewinnowing.website/ (maybe it will make it on a future list?) Happy Reading!
