Obsidio | Can’t Wait Wednesday #2
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings, created to discuss books that book bloggers haven’t read yet and they’re usually books yet to be released. I ran across it when looking for new content ideas for The Book Blog Life, and it looked like so much fun. BUT I’m going to break the rules a little, it’s rare for me to be looking forward to book releases, PURELY because I’m so busy with everything else going on I don’t have the time to keep a track of sequels, and so forth. So I think I’m going to do books that are sat on my shelf for a little while and I can’t wait to read them so this week it will be Obsidio!Obsidio by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff
Series: The Illuminae Files #3
Also in this series: Illuminae
Genres: YA, Sci-Fi
Published by Knopf Books for Young Readers
Kady, Ezra, Hanna, and Nik narrowly escaped with their lives from the attacks on Heimdall station and now find themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees on the container ship, Mao. With the jump station destroyed and their resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza—but who knows what they'll find seven months after the invasion?
Meanwhile, Kady's cousin, Asha, survived the initial BeiTech assault and has joined Kerenza's ragtag underground resistance. When Rhys—an old flame from Asha's past—reappears on Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict.
With time running out, a final battle will be waged on land and in space, heroes will fall, and hearts will be broken.
Another one of my June purchases, it is the third book in The Illuminae Files. This series was one that I have reread and ended up loving it more the second time around. I knew I wanted to read it and it was part of the buy one get one half price deal in Waterstones so I couldn’t pass it up! I can’t wait to find out what they have in story this time around! Hopefully there will be some great badass characters in this one, and the relationships will just get better and better. Fingers crossed.
Have you read Obsidio? What did you think? Does it give the trilogy the ending it deserves? Let me know in the comments!
