My Bookish Christmas Wish List

12th December 2017

I love Christmas, it’s actually my favourite time of the year. I love the festive feel that comes around this time of year. The best part of everything is the shopping and the wrapping and the colour coordination and the twinkly lights. I may not read all the Chrismassy books – you should check out my December TBR – but I just have so much love for this season. I thought about how I wanted to kick off my Chrismassy posts and I thought writing about my Bookish Christmas Wish List was the perfect post to get started.

I have bought an awful lot of books this year so there isn’t a huge amount on this list. I don’t want to overwhelm my shelves. But I wouldn’t be a bookworm if there wasn’t at least a list.

1.Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban illustrated edition

This has been on my radar from the moment it was released. It’s just so beautiful and I’m collecting them as fast as I can but they are rather expensive and we’re currently saving up for our honeymoon! I’m hoping to get them under my Christmas tree, but if I get dollars instead I’m not gonna complain, they’ll come in mighty handy when I’m in the wonderful World of Harry Potter next April.

2. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them illustrated

Another one that I have on my bookish Christmas wish list. What is it with Harry Potter and all the wonderfully pretty books at the moment? I adored the film of this and I loved reading through and learning about all the different characters. I really want this book on my shelf, if it’s not under my Christmas tree then Boxing Day may be the day I buy!

3. Harry Potter: A History of Magic

Yup, another one. I think I’ve gone a little Harry Potter mad on my bookish Christmas wish list this year, but it’s just one of those things. They have released some awesomely pretty books this year, and I want them all on my Harry Potter themed shelf. I love the idea of this book and being able to look through all the exhibitions and read all about them. It sounds like a book to bring me deep joy and happiness!

4. Rumo & His Miraculous Adventures

These books are amazing, expensive but amazing. I managed to find The 13 1/2 Lives of Captain Bluebear in a charity shop. I would love to have the entire set but they are still really expensive, I mean for a paperback to buy. They are all on my wishlist on Amazon and one day, maybe, someone will grab me them for Christmas!

5. Murder on the Orient Express

Agatha Christie has always been an author that I have meant to start reading. I grew up watching Miss Marple and Poirot with my mum on the weekends. I know the stories are great but have never picked up the books. Maybe in the new year I’ll dive into at least one of the series, but for now I would be happy with this very pretty edition of Murder on the Orient Express.
