A Reread! | #IMWAYR #1

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.  It’s a great post to organise yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment, and er… add to that ever-growing TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!

I thought this might be a really good meme to keep a track of what I was reading week to week and what I had gotten through in the month, it’ll kinda be like a weekly wrap up! I loved the accountability and the way that this will be forced to keep myself on track with my reading challenge which spoiler alert I am SUPER behind on. So on with the show!

This week is the final week before my assignment is due so I am completely focused on that. I am hoping I have done enough to pass, I don’t think I have though! I just can’t wait for it to be over if I’m completely honest. It’s been a lot of work and a lot of blood sweat and tears. Plus I’ve just signed up for the next level which is like double the work, maybe I just hate myself.

On with my reading, which I’m hoping to still get to this week.

Books I Read Last Week

A Reread! | #IMWAYR #1A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
four-stars
Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses #1

Feyre's survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ...

Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre's presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

five-stars
Series: A Court of Thorns and Roses #2
Also in this series: A Court of Wings and Ruin
Genres: YA
Published by Bloomsbury USA Childrens

Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

This is a reread, hence the rating! I have A Court of Frost and Starlight sat on my shelf waiting to be read, and let’s face it I don’t need any excuse to reread this series! It’s one of my absolute favourites. I love Sarah J Maas and her writing style. I am a huge fan of the stories she weaves, so much so that her Throne of Glass series was my first YA series recommendation!

I am LOVING being back in this world, it’s just as great as I remembered and I can’t wait to read the new novella, I have high hopes!

  1. I’ve only read Throne of Glass by Maas – nothing from this series, but I did love it. I need to read more of this author (a coworker is always telling me this), but I’ve fallen very much behind.
