Did she really say ‘I do’?!
Holly is happily single with two gorgeous kids but when she finds out her ex is moving on she jumps at the chance of attending her friend Emma’s wedding in Vegas – it’s the perfect distraction…

Kim used to be the life and soul of the party, but now there’s nothing she loves more than a quiet night at home with the family. But in Vegas her past quickly catches up with her – in a way that could make or break her marriage!

Emma is getting married! She knows it should be the happiest time of her life, but she can’t help feeling she’s marrying the wrong man. So when she wakes up on her wedding day with a ring already on her finger, she panics – who did she marry last night?

I requested The Morning after the Wedding Before from Netgalley because it seemed to be a nice feel-good story about 3 friends with one getting married. I was so disappointed with this story and the writing style. I thought each of the characters was bland and uninviting, I don’t think I connected with any of them, there was nothing unique or exciting about them. The storyline was predictable and wrapped up WAY too easy, there was no real climax and everything ended too nicely. Overall it wasn’t at all what I expected and I wanted there to be something more to draw me in!

I think my biggest problem with The Morning after the Wedding Before was the characters. They were quite frankly boring. Even the “influencer” Emma, nothing in their lives was a unique thought, the amount that they went on about their kids could have filled a book within itself. I wanted to love them as a trio but even their friendship seemed to be forced and empty, they didn’t bother meeting up in real life but were “super close”, their entire relationship didn’t sit right with me. I wanted there to be some real moments rather than the fabricated “I’m a good friend so I’ll go and do this” there was so much disconnect between them all.

There weren’t too many best bits in The Morning after the Wedding Before, like I said before. I think my favourite part would have to be when Kim finally lets loose a little bit and she really starts to enjoy herself, or Emma getting drunk the day before her wedding. Basically, whenever any of the characters get drunk they seemed to be less robotic and I connected with them a little more, so I suppose they would be my best bits.

The worst bits of The Morning after the Wedding Before? Probably having to listen to them all complain CONSTANTLY about their lives and repeat 80 times a minute how they’re going enjoy themselves before they go home. I would just like to say if any of my friends were in a relationship that’s presented in this book I wouldn’t be sugar coating anything and I wouldn’t be letting her walk away from the conversation. It actually annoyed me how lacklustre they were in looking out for one another. I just couldn’t believe they were actually friends. It was a bizarre relationship. I wanted them to help and support each other by being honest and true to each other, not avoid the issues.

I don’t think I would recommend The Morning after the Wedding Before, I think there are other better feel good books out there with better characters and less predictable storyline!
