July Wrap Up

I had an amazing month of reading and my July Wrap Up is huge, I finally hit my stride. I read a lot and really enjoyed some of the books I read this month.

Quick run through:

  • Finished the reread of A Court of Thorns and Roses and read A Court of Frost and Starlight. This series will forever be one of my favourites. Can NOT wait for the next installment.
  • Read some eArcs, Spinning Silver was okay but I thought it focused on the wrong part of the story and the pacing was off in some places. The Life and Death Parade was again okay, but wouldn’t be one I would rush out to buy or to read again.
  • I finished off The Illuminae Files with reading Obsidio which blew me away! I thought this book was beyond amazing, and it was the perfect ending to the trilogy.
  • I also read Wilde Like Me, a book I was super excited for but was ultimately left a little deflated by.
  • Throughout the month I also listened to two audiobooks, but I’ll go into more detail below!

Each of the pictures below is linked up with the corresponding review if you want to know my individual thoughts on each one!

I have rekindled my love for audiobooks in my July Wrap Up. I love this series and I tried really hard to reread the physical version but failed because I could basically hear the narrators in my head. So resorted back to the audiobooks, and it was the best decision ever!

This month on the blog:

I have tried a different way of doing my July Wrap Up! Let me know in the comments whether you enjoy this layout more!

  1. I haven’t finished the Illuminae Files series but I keep hearing that Obsidio is a great ending so I’m going to try and finish the series this month. I love audiobooks! I’ll definitely have to check out the audiobooks for An Ember of Ashes, I’ve heard really good things about the series.

I hope you have a wonderful August and I really liked how you did your wrap up!

I am so happy to read that you loved Obsidio. I loved Illuminae and Gemina and have Obsidio ready to read. I am delaying the deliciousness to be good and finish promised review books first. I am amazed all your posts in July–great job! Caraval was a book that surprised me last year. I have yet to read the second book.

    • I loved Obsidio, it was the perfect ending. The whole series really blew me away! Yeah July really took me by surprise, August is not being as productive! I really didn’t like Caraval, felt like a bad imitation of The Night Circus. You’ll have to let me know if Legendary is any better!
