I started setting myself goals at the beginning of each, I started off with the daunting task of reading A Song of Ice and Fire by the end of 2016, you can read my final thoughts about the series here. It was a great motivator for me and I really enjoyed it as a whole, so I did the same thing for 2017 which you can read all about here. I haven’t really spoken about it if I’m honest so I thought it was time to post my reading challenge update.
I set out to read 25 of the Discworld novels and I’m sad to say that I won’t be making that goal! In fact, I’m not even close. I have read one. It’s sad. I know. I set these goals and nothing has transpired from it. I don’t even know what went wrong that I wasn’t able to complete it! I still really want to read the Discworld series, but I think I got overwhelmed with the immensity of the number of books on my shelves that needed reading and these were on my Kindle. Either way, I let myself be swayed and the books haven’t been read. So this isn’t a triumphant my reading challenge update rather the opposite.
What do I plan to do about it? Well, I think I’m going to forget about it this year and start again fresh next year. Like I said above, I don’t think it was an issue with not wanting to read the books rather I have a crap tonne of physical copies that need to be read and I got overwhelmed.
So onto 2018 and hopefully I’ll make it this time!
Have you ever set yourself goals and failed miserably? Let me know some of the goals you have failed at and make me feel better.
