August 2017 Wrap Up

My August 2017 Wrap Up was a good month for reading once again. I read a good number of books, most of them were to do with YALC 2017 but I’m not complaining. I’ve read some really great books this month and found some new favourites. I am so behind on all my reviews so I’ve not gotten around to writing all of them yet! It’s a work in progress, coming on slowly but surely. On with my August 2017 […]

My MASSIVE TBR

You may not have noticed but there is a nice new item on my menu! I have done some cataloguing of my shelves and I now have a wonderfully written list of all the books I have to read. Which in some ways is great and in others an extremely daunting prospect. I just couldn’t believe how many books are on my massive TBR. I thought the list was the best way to keep a track of my reading and […]

Rebel of the Sands | 4 star review

I loved this book and I was really lucky to meet Alwyn Hamilton at YALC 2017 which you can read about here. The one thing that stood out about Rebel of the Sands would have to be the folklore and the way it was integrated into the story line. Especially with the mixture of magic and modern weapons it was really well done. I loved that entire aspect of the story, it made for really interesting reading and it was […]

Strange the Dreamer | 5 star review

I love the whimsical way that Laini Taylor creates a story and I genuinely think she has out done herself with Strange the Dreamer. With a plot rich with conflict and characters that could each have their own stand-a-lone story it’s hard to see why anyone would fight picking this book up. I have to say the mythology and concept that was woven through this book was outstanding and SO well put together. I enjoyed reading and learning about every […]

My Favourite Audiobooks

I have a love hate relationship with audiobooks, sometimes I really love to listen to them and others I find them hard and really lacking. I thought it would be a nice idea for me to write a list of all my favourite audiobooks and let you know why Ready Player One This was the first book I listened to on Audible and it was a very good pick! I loved the story and listening to it on audiobook made […]

The Handmaid’s Tale | 4 star review

I read this book as I live on an Island where abortion isn’t legal, and although the situation to get an abortion is nowhere near as bad as those in third world countries it isn’t ideal. Over the last couple of months, there has been a lot of protesting and parallels have been made between our situation and The Handmaid’s Tale. So I wanted to read it before I waged in on any arguments or online debates. I have to […]

My YALC 2017 Book Haul

Welcome to my YALC 2017 book haul. If you didn’t already know I spent an entire week at YALC in London and spent WAY too much money. I did a whole roundup in my last blog post – so you should definitely check that out here! Seeing as it was a book event and I bought so many  I thought it would be fun for me to share which books I bought whilst in the capital. At YALC On Writing […]

Our YALC 2017 trip

This is a little bit belated seeing as our YALC 2017 trip ended nearly two weeks ago, but I had a killer cold and there’s been so much happening I haven’t had time to focus on my blog. It’s been one of those weeks. Anyway, I wanted to reminisce about all the wonderful things that happened on one of the best weeks of my life. Wednesday 26th July My journey started a day earlier than it should have so that […]

July 2017 Wrap Up

I know I’m so late with my July 2017 Wrap Up but I was at the best book convention ever and then I came down with the worst cold I have had in a long time! So here it is. Better late than never! I had an amazing month of reading this month! I read a whole load of books all in preparation for YALC (which by the way was amazing and there will be a full wrap up and […]
