I have been so absent for the past week, but here’s my third NaNoWriMo update. I have been desperately trying to catch up as I am falling massively behind. This week my father-in-law died and I have had to spend a lot of my time trying to get my head around everything that has happened. Plus making sure we can pay rent. Surprisingly, my writing has gone untouched. I spent the weekend trying to catch up and failing. I’m now on around about 32000 out of 38000 odd I need.
What should I do when I’m totally burnt out and losing motivation by the second? Well I’m going to keep writing and hope for the best. If I don’t win, I don’t win but I will know that I carried on writing til the end. That for me is an achievement.
It did turn out that the end I thought I had in my head was completely different to the ending than my book had in mind. I have added a huge amount of back story to the characters and there seems to be so much more to say and I am SO grateful. I thought I was going to hvae to spend the rest of the month word vomiting on the page.
So wish me luck at the end of my third NaNoWriMo update, keep your fingers crossed that I might even end up catching up and winning. It could happen right?
